If you have Facebook, don't friend Jonesley Marcus. I believe she is a scammer. She contacted me first and I am guessing she found me thru one of my friend's friend list. I found 3 of my friends on her friend list so I don't know thru which friend she found me. I have no idea if she is deaf or not. I noticed she changed her English from good to bad and back to good. We had trouble talking via FB chat room so we use AIM. Her AIM screen name is jnsly111. Out of the blue, she want to know if I got the money yet because she saw my name on the winner list. I don't know what winner list she was talking about because I don't care for prizes because of the scammers. Well, after that, I googled her name and found plenty of her victims.

I have warned my FB deaf friends and now you guys. Save yourself the hassle by avoiding her!! I found two different pictures of her so I don't know if she stole somebody's picture. Some even said that she is deaf but I am not so sure about that because of her English. Maybe she found the deaf people as easy marks.

I would appreciate it if you spread the word among the deaf community both on Facebook and off. Thanks for spreading the word.

MOD: Could you make sure that this thread stay sticky for awhile to make sure that everybody knows of this? Thanks!

I will keep my eyes on my facebook.

Thank you for warning.

I also Googled the name Jonesly Marcus. Found this and copied from a forum. Not my writing.
Here is link: Dating scammer Sandra Bleesing - Page 3

I have been comunicating with this person who is using these same pics for a year now. Claims to be in Nigeria buying antiques. Of course needed money sent to her. She is using the name Jonesley Marcus from Beckley WV and using 3 emails: dakostar2004@yahoo,jjjjjjjjjDDDD Jonesley@yahoo,and jnslyjeff@yahoo. I estimate that I have sent 20K to Nigeria to the name Jonesley Marcus. She,He, they have had money transferred to my bank account and used my credit card accounts also. Only one time was this money good, the first time. The last transfer was disputed in 3 days after I took the cash and sent it to Nigeria and Ohio. Definitely a scum Nigerian scammer. I'm going to the FBI. The newest name this scammer is using with thes pics is 'JONESLEY MARCUS'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE POST THIS AS A WARNING TO ALL

Umm... if you don't really know her, then why be friends with her in the first place?

If you really know your friends, then you won't have problems. :)

Very good point! Nobody is on my list that I do not know in one way or another.

Exactly. NEVER befriended with anyone you don't know too well.

I put my profile on private... but unlike for me I added few people I don't know but i recently deleted one person cuz I was not understanding what he was saying in other langauge so.. figures facebook is popular those days now more than myspace.com which was interesting to know

I never have had a problem with my FB. *Knock on wood!*

I had a guy linked to AD try to scam me on FB. First, he tried hitting on me, then he tried the deaf lottery scam. I eliminated him immediately but not before he bugged all of my friends with a friend request.

Good point but sometimes people make mistakes. I made the mistake of accepting one guy's friend request because I thought he looked familiar. Turned out he spoke foriegn language and lived in another country so I deleted him.

I befriended a guy that was a friend of a friend. I thought that he was a Harry Potter freak. He sent me "hot panties." EWWWW! Turns out that the guy was a friend of a friend because they were playing mafia together. Deleted creepy guy after that.

You may want to report her to Facebook as a scammer. Use Saywhatkid's info.

Scammers :rl:

Thanks for warning about this person.. I have been got some strange request from someone I don't know from my facebook. I normally sent a message to ask if the person know me or where seen me from. If no reply, I'd delete and block.

May I make a suggest?

It may be good idea for you to change your privacy setting, such as in your account privacy setting on how everyone find you, you can change it to "Only Friends" which means nobody can find you - if you find someone who you know, you could add friend on their facebook page.

Hope this helps. :)

I have already reported her to FBI online. I tried to contact FB but it is very difficult to get ahold of someone. All I got was a message machine when I want a live person.

I accepted her friend request because I thought she is a friend of friend (that freind of mine was late in her response) and that she might be related to a deaf guy I knew (same last name). It is a good thing I don't make public my birthdate. I just don't like people finding out my birthdate. I can see how easy it is for someone to take on someone else's identity.

Buffallo........you can report her online................I was really bored one time and reported a scammer. They have a "report this person" feature.
