My friend told me a long story about her daughter. I want to share a short story here.

My friend's daughter had a tongue piercing. She worked at Jewelry store. She took a metal staple with a short U-shaped wire nail for securing the necklaces to the wall. She put the metal staple in her lips to hold while working with necklace on the wall. Somehow metal staple magnet into her metal tongue piercing. She was panic and reflex ; suckled it into her throat! She rushed to the hospital. She is very lucky that don't need to open surgery because doctor can pull it out from clip scissor!

If you have a tongue piercing then gotten to be careful with any metal with magnet with your mouth! :giggle:

tongue piercings are magnetized?

I am just trying to sort out the full scope of this? What happens when tongue peircing meet pivate parts piercing? The mind reels. I wired a pet food factory a while back and they had big magnets for making sure no metal got into the pet food and then being ingested by the hapless animals. I wonder maybe the magnetic tongue piercing is the same way. Maybe it could have saved the poor girl from swallowing a fork or something.

OUCH! Glad your friend's daughter is ok.

Ouch!

I'm glad that your friend's daughter is okay.

I'm considering getting an ear piercing. Not sure when. Definitely not a tongue peircing....

My brother has a tongue piercing but he has to take it out when he's at work as he has a state job at a state park that is within the boundaries of a national forest. But when he's off work he wears it. He got it pierced about 4 or 5 years before he got the state ob. When he did his tongue swelled up and he was eating through a straw for a few days. That made me not want a tongue piercing.

Ouch! I wonder if that was painful! Good thing she is ok.

I would love to get my belly button pierced but hafta get a rock hard stomach first. LOL!

^^ *ouchie!*

I am glad your friend's daughter is OK, Phillips. Thank goodness!

Oh my! I'm glad she didn't need any surgery. Quality body jewelry should be implant-grade surgical steel, so it shouldn't be magnetic at all, but I've seen alot of really poor quality jewelry over the last few years because of the increased popularity of body piercings. A friend of mine had a piercing that literally rusted inside of her body! She got a nasty infection and had to have some of her tissue removed, but she was okay. People should really research what they put in their body because it can really dangerous.

Interesting. My friend said, that she will not get another pierced on her tongue if it falls off. She is done with having pierced tongue or belly or nose ever again. She had enough with being in pain. LOL

I won't ever get pierced, not even my ear(s) I also won't get any tattoos, they are harmful in itself. I tried to talk some of my friends out of this but they will learn the hard way.

Imagine how that would be for the couple that got stuck. Tongue piercing to private piercing.

The emergency personnel and police would be doing a lot of coughing, hemming and hawing while the couple is stuck, in the midst of trying to get them unstuck.

Wonder if they would use the jaws of life????? :laugh2:

:D
