I vote half wallpapers, borders, and paint...

I think wallpapers and borders with paint are warmer, friendly and prettier than just all paints.

Mine and my children´s: bedroom - half wallpapers, border and paint
bathroom & WC : full wall and floor tiles
Kitchen - paint white (like plaster)
stairs - half wallpapers, border and paint
living room - half wallpapers, border and paint
TV room - paint (like plaster)
study room - half wallpaper, border /paint
dinning room- full white classic wallpapers with border
cloak room - paint
4 rooms in basement - paint

All the rooms MUST have bright and friendly. I hate that DARK color....

most rooms are painted...i use wallies for kids room. wallies is cutout wallpapers like if it was a car, it would cut out like a car...easy to remove.

my opinion on wallpaper is okay but too much work and hassles. YOU can do many things with paints even you can design it yourself use mask tape. Even there are different types of paints you can use such as textures.

PAINT only!!!

cuz i get bored easily with wallpapers  don't ask me why.. i guess it is because i am a graphic designer and grew up with artists/interior designers other than doctors in my family.. and it would be UNREALISTIC to change wallpapers every 2-3 years?? :D  so i am better off sticking with paint only .. unless there is a good reason for it... like maybe a baby's room or something.... hmmm!

right on shiva!!!
whats more.. wallpapers tend to peel off eventually and it makes the room look ugly!!!.. like in my bathroom at my moms for instance! the wallpaper is peeling off on the top near the ceiling due to the steam from the shower in the last few years... they remodeled the bathroom in the spring of 98... my mom is already whining about it.. i told her it was a BIG :nono: to wallpaper the bathroom... and told her to rip it off and just paint the whole bathroom in a nice color.. she is like no.. i love the wallpaper.. blah blah.. i am like.. fine.. it is your problem.. not mine!

i love "brush looking" paint! one of my favorites and also some textures.. those kinds of painting jobs will do the trick! :thumb:

I'll be remodeling my house soon, Roadrunner and I are taking down the old dry walls in the living room and hallway inculding my son's room too....Right now the living room has wallpaper but we rather to paint it once we put new dry wall in ....

We finished our bathrooms, and my little son's room, but we want to finish this whole house before I get to my 50's LOL

I rather to have paint than wallpaper but I do love wallpapering but this time I will not buy any but only boarders that you can put near the ceiling...

We'll be doing our kitchen someday and add some fruit boarders around our kitchen....

Wallpaper is so so, but easily turned off by the buyers if your trying to sell your house. I wouldn't want wallpaper, and I already took down one from my bathroom!

Wallpapers and paint in the bathroom? :nono:

Full floor and wall tiles in bathroom and toilet.

There´re very common in Germany to use floor and wall tiles in bathroom and toilet only.

To me, it´s not much hassle to remove wallpapers. It remove very easy with vingera/water in warm water.

Every 2-3 years? No...

We removed our first wallpapers for a first time after 11 years in 2000.

It would be different if you are smoker and smoke in the house.

My DH hate wallpaper so much, its out of question.

Paint is best for indoor dogs and children's handprint or craydon on walls, you can use sponge to wash it off. :)

I redo a room in the house every month. I enjoy the change of style and colors. Good thing is I never get bored with the same ole thing.

In the past, we have had paint, stencils, wallpaper, borders, wainscoting, and full panelling. Right now, we have full paint with some beaded-board wainscoting, and wood chair rail molding.

Paint is much quicker and easier to change and freshen. We have light, bright colors, and some neutrals. I have a lot of art on the walls, so paint is also a simpler background for pictures.

The paper wallpaper was easy to remove, but the vinyl-backed paper in the kitchen was very difficult to remove all traces.

Our next big project will be to remove the "popcorn" (or some people call it "cottage cheese") texture from our ceilings so we can paint them. We have already done that in two small bathrooms, and the effect is very nice. I just dread the mess and work of doing the large rooms.

The whole place my bf has is completely white... All white painted walls. It's a nice canvas for colourful artworks, furniture and so on.

rest of my post were posted another forum... Now here again.. (chuckles)

I made vote just border/full paint.. that is it..

Hate wallpaper... BIG HASSLE WORK PUT IT UP ON THE WALL.. WANNA REMOVE WALLPAPER EXTRA MORE WORKLOAD.. *ugh shivers*

:D

we hate wallpapers... wallies is ok since it s only be in kids room.. i dunno if you have heard of wallies.. its no bigger than 6 inches...easier than wallpapers.

I voted "half wallpapers, border & paint". I think that looks much nicer than whole wallpaper on every wall. Cuz if you change your mind later, It's more harder to remove the whole wall papering. Borders looks much nicer with a coloring paint that matches with some colors that are in the boarder. ;)

I forget to add one more.

For me, no hassle to remove wallpapers. It´s very easy to remove with vingera/warm water with sponge what I did it in 2000.
