The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind Communications Director Miki Gilloon announced to Historic City News today that the school will be hosting two upcoming public events and invited our readers to participate.
Open House
The Kirk Auditorium at 207 North San Marco Avenue will be the venue for an Open House celebration at 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, February 22nd. Entertainment will be provided by the Blind Department’s “Outta Sight Band” and an American Sign Language dance performance by the Deaf Department’s Dance Troupe.
This free public event gives visitors the opportunity to learn more about the school. The event features student performances and an Orientation and Mobility demonstration by students in the Blind Department.
“This is a great opportunity for members of the local community to see the outstanding educational programs and services available to our students,” said Rick Coleman, Parent Services Information Specialist. Coleman can be contacted for reservations at (904) 827-2227 .
