Dear Sir/ Madam,

Greetings from the United Kingdom!

We produce a programme for the Channel Four network called VEE-TV; this is made by and for young deaf adults. VEE-TV is committed to reflecting the creativity and culture of young deaf people across the UK, the programmes are recorded in different locations around the UK each week. VEE-TV mixes entertainment, celebrity interviews, documentary features, arts, lifestyle and contemporary culture in an ambitious and striking format. Presented by Nikki Stratton, Ahmed Mudawi and Rebecca Tadman, VEE-TV travels to meet its audience, sparks debate, gives a platform to new talent and brings the ideas and imagination of its young audience firmly into the mainstream.

We’re currently looking at coming over to America to cover Rochester’s university festival, Brickfest. If we do, we’re also looking at doing some filming in the Rochester area, looking at prominent deaf people.

We were wondering if any of local Rochester deaf people would be interested in potentially being interviewed by ourselves about Rochester life? We know that Rochester is a very deaf-friendly town so we’re very interested in seeing if we can make a programme about this! If we get the go-ahead from our Executive Producers we will probably be in the area from the 8th-10th April, perhaps a bit longer. There is nothing definite yet, it is all subject to the Executive Producers at the moment. We are currently trying to create a strong proposal for filming.

Additionally, as someone who lives and works in Rochester – we would greatly appreciate any suggestions you could make in terms of things we could film, or interviews we could do. We’re doing a lot of research on the internet, and are also in touch with RIT – however, any ideas or suggestions you may have would be fantastic.

As you can see, we have a very tight deadline to work to; we would be really grateful if you could get in touch as soon as possible. We’re really, really keen to do something on Rochester, and would appreciate any help you could give us in order to make this happen.

Thank-you for your time, we hope to hear from you soon.

Best wishes,
