I live in VA . ATT has relay in VA for many years and we love it. It very good relay service. Now ATT suppose to be biggest phone company but they not bid on relay contract anymore is what I hear. They close down all their relays. How can they be biggest phone company not offer deaf people relay. Pls call AT&T and complain. I need help.

Move on... Get a VP... You will not regret...

AMEN!!!!

Whats more, when using state relay service, you gotta to pay toll which can be expensive. While using any VRS, or online relay service, there is absolutely zero toll charges! I haven't paid a penny to telephone company, nor long distance company for over two years! Because of this (Videophone) I saved well over 700 dollars for phone service that I didn't miss at all!

I am not saying that TTY stinks. TTY did serve me well in the past, and sadly that TTY world is dying BIG time! TTY will be history before you know! Trust me!

Why VP better than TTY? The cost is not the only reason. The real reason is Speed, clarity, the chance of miscommunication has been greatly reduced! You see, a person for example makes a relay TTY calls, this person would require about an hour of time to talk with somebody, while it would take me 10 minutes for the SAME amount of conversation with somebody though the Video Relay Service. Many times, I have to ask my friends to get on VP for clarification! So, VP is the way to go! Forget the idea of TTY! (Hey Mr. Weitbrecht, I gotta nothing against you but you have done huge positive impact on all of us deafies, without you VP may not be here today!)

it is not just weibrecht himself there is two other guys, dr marsters (living) and andrew saks. these 3 guys banded together and made tty modem a reality. ian lee brody of new jersey enchanced the modem quality

right without these guys, no tty, no relay or even vp

Amen these 3 guys
