I tried do USB w Sidekick on computer .... nothing happen. What it for?

Everybody know that USB for sidekick is USELESS

Therefore, it's do nothing. Well, the original concept it suppose to use for backup to your own computer. And it could allow you to sync your outlook. Sadly, Danger couldn't afford to write own program for Windows OS.

Rumor USB SK is for battery recharge, if that's true or not, :dunno: Another reason for USB SK you can connect computer and edit online and update to SK. That's all I know about USB

That's why I don't like Sidekick. I am being advanced user! I need something like Palm or PC Pocket.

WOW ! I could hardly wait to see
Illustrator's response to this :)

More Details, details details ?

P.S. I could go for it only depends
on details/pricing hopefully if it's
less than $29 a month :)

Hitachi G1000, from SprintPCS

You can get a data only plan, not sure of the cost. If you go into the Sprint store, you MUST emphasize to the sales person that you ONLY want the Vision Data plan, and they'll hook you up. If not, tell me which store you went to and I'll have someone take care of "educating" their employees about deaf customers.

Ugly model.
Too heavy.
Too bigger. :mrgreen:

Treo 600 better than this handheld.

I still think Blackberry 7280 is better than Treo!

http://www.blackberry.com/products/blackberry7200/blackberry7280.shtml

(Not yesterday's crappy Blackberry)

It is MUCH better than the crappy RIM 950 (like Wynd). Treo 600 only checks email every 15 minutes. Blackberry downloads email immediately -- you get emails immediately like a pager. Blackberry works better in fringe reception -- no waiting hours for email that didn't get through because of Hiptop/Sidekick unreliability or such. I thumb-type only 50 WPM on TREO 600 keyboard. I can thumbtype 70 WPM on a Blackberry.

Blackberry 7280 is smaller and much lighter than a TREO 600 yet has a bigger keyboard.... 4 ounces. It's thinner (easier for a pocket) and the bigger keyboard is possible because it's wider.

(I know, more expensive....but if you want the ULTIMATE just go with standard non-deaf Cingular/TMobile Blackberry.... you can buy Mailstreet BES/MDS hosting ($$) to get access to a stable version of WebMessenger/ICQ/AIM/MSN/HTML/Telnet/SSH/etc and wireless calendar synchronization .... plus www.dictomail.com dispatch service ($$) .... plus www.imbot.com Text-to-Voice service ($$) .... plus www.fusewireless.com (or www.iptty.com) wireless TDD/relay service .... All the $$ adds up.

And it doesn't crash like my old 950 used to! More reliable with email than Treo or Hiptop/Sidekick. Feels surprisingly solid... I am paying out of my nose....but this is definitely ULTIMATE.... Trust me! (Treo 600 has lower price service... but I wanted ULTIMATE with the best and fastest and most reliable email....and that is Blackberry!)

But DO NOT GET WYNDTELL! Crappy! They give Blackberry a bad reputation.

I hear it's pretty good.

But Blackberry is something I don't get what Palm/PC Pocket have. It being focus only e-mail and it isn't support for Mac OS on sync.

Need external memory, remove/add programs for combine personal and business. It keep all in one I need for digital life.

True. If you want to play videogames, I prefer my iPaq PocketPC or even a Palm.

However, if you need ultimate wireless email, the Blackberry have pretty much runs circles around the PocketPC and PalmOS handhelds. (I own several of them actually, several over the years that I've upgraded through...) A touchscreen is good as an electronic notepad for the deaf, writing notes back and fourth, which my PocketPC is very good for.

But for wireless email, Blackberry is the best in my opinion. It's always on 24 hours a day, pager style, no need to initiate connect procedures. I can also do email/HTML/ICQ chat/AIM chat/MSN chat/Yahoo! chat/telnet/WAP/SSH. I can also even telnet into a Linux box and run IRC at the command line too. Email is instantaneous. Just whip out your device and do your deed. You can now install applications on your Blackberry from www.rimroad.com ... If you want to get everything like ICQ/AIM/MSN/telnet/SSH you either need a Nextel-brand Blackberry because it has a TCP/IP stack, or you need to get Blackberry Enterprise Server hosting service such as MailStreet.com (About $23 per month total) so that all the third party Internet software works on Cingular/T-Mobile Blackberries. Also, there are also no PalmOS / PocketPC's that have thumb keyboards and are less than 5 ounces. Only the Blackberries are less than 5 ounces, making them the lightest devices with very good thumb keyboards. (Model 7280 Blackberry is 4.8 ounces and yet its now-backlit keyboard still allows faster thumbtyping than a Sidekick/Hiptop).

But Blackberry was definitely not designed for videogames... I just wanted the best "cellphone for the deaf" and that's a Blackberry! (With lots of expensive third-party addons, though -- cost IS a disadvantage if you want the ULTIMATE...)

And yes, I've figured out how to turn my Blackberry into a real-time keypress-at-a-time wireless TTY too. :) I can choose any wireless provider I want with the BEST RECEPTION, and STILL get wireless TTY thanks to third party solutions nowadays.

List of Download & Paid Blackberry Software
* Telnet/SSH for Linux remote access - Idokorro Mobile SSH
* IM Chat AIM/ICQ/MSN/Yahoo - WebMessenger
* HTML Web Browsing - Reqwireless Webviewer
* Wireless TTY - www.fusewireless.com / www.lormarlogic.com / www.iptty.com
* BES/MDS Hosting - www.mailstreet.com
* JPEG/GIF photo viewer
* Voice to text (Third party Dispatch) - www.dictomail.com
* Text to Voice (Send email to phone #'s) - www.imbot.com

As you can see, that costs a pretty penny. Expensive but ULTIMATE!. Over $100 total montly fees in several bills because I've slapped together multiple third party stuff. Blows away the best wireless Palm / PocketPC / Hiptop / old RIM (and I've tried them all). Worth every penny for me!!

This stuff was originally designed for companies. Big companijes. Governments. Corporations. Etc. The USA GOVERNMENT / USA SENATE uses Blackberries for good reason! (And Blackberry is a CANADIAN technology, go figure!) That's why the latest Blackberries are not usually sold directly to the deaf. You have to slap

See, the new full color Blackberries (when used on a good wireless network) are really the best for mission-critical wireless email!

PS: You have to use Nextel instead of Cingular/T-Mobile/other providers if you can't afford the $23 per month for Mailstreet.com hosting service ($12.95 Exchange server hosting + $9.95 Blackberry Enterprise Server hosting) to enable the MDS features required for a TCP/IP-like stack for Internet software applications on Blackberry used on Cingular/T-Mobile CDMA/GSM/GPRS networks. And these are fees on TOP of your wireless bill!

You do need to be sort of a geek to set up all of this, though because otherwise it's confusing to configure and set up before everything is "plug and play". You're gluing together many third party stuff together...

Some geeks buy $3000 PC's (www.alienware.com) just to play videogames.
Other people buy $60,000+ muscle cars for the fun of that power!
I pay the extra for the world's best best wireless email!

(Reminder: DO NOT GO WYNDTELL!!! They are crappy.)

lol, it's has nothing with games, I want. I need dictonary book, and many useful for my errand. :)

I am surprise that Blackberry is TTY compatible which is great.

It would be nice if Blackberry services were offered here in Australia, so I could use them as well. :cry: But hey...I can't complain too much because I'm pretty good with a mobile phone (cell) as it sents SMS's to just about any hand held devices like the sidekick, blackberry, other cell phones as well.
I've been nagging at 3 different major mobile phone companies to create a special contract/plan for deaf people as we don't always use the voice feature -- only the data and SMS text message feature. So far..no luck yet, but ain't giving up until it's been introduced.
