Oh no... that's sad. :(

I'm military brat and I noticed most deaf people (outside of AD) are very apathy, lack of patriotic and anti-military, also some of my posts on FB disappeared after I discussed about military stuff that where deaf man has zero interest about military.

Unlike hearing people, not many people in deaf communities thanked our family for serve the country.

I feel pain, of course.

At first I disagreed with this article ... Then thought more and more as I read it.... I noticed my communities and actions even I take as a vet and a military brat.... It is sad the turns our nation is taking and wonder is it the same in other nations... Ones that require service and ones that are strictly volunteer.... I have buried too many friends and relatives due to war to think unbiasedly I believe.... Hmm but that you for sharing this....

my first husband was military and I was civi in same hospital (he was total arse)only thing I can say at least 99%were there for benefits housing education etc they go all career never having fired a gun apart from target practice and comes a big shock when country calls, majority do not have the heart to fire a gun and if gungho then military not good place.
I am afraid fox it not the deaf who anymore apathetic than anyone else but I think my country not as apathetic to Military as yours is most people I know have great respect for men/women going to these god for bidden countries...The soldiers themselves will say what waste it is so maybe public are listening to them that why the aphathy
