Hi I personally am not deaf however have decided to create a computer program which can convert speech to a graphical representation of sign language and to also allow you to input using text and output it using speech

One of my tasks is to talk to people who are deaf (or know someone who is) and to get a better understanding on what limitations there are and how this project will help them.

Is this tool already available to you or the people who want to talk to you, was it free or did it cost money?

Are you able to speak?

If you are unable to speak how would you communicate with someone who did not know or understand sign language?

On an education or job standpoint has being deaf limited your chances of getting onto courses or jobs. Was there some which was unavailable to you because the lecturer/employer could not use sign language to communicate with you or did you have someone which would communicate for you?

This question is to the person who knows someone who is deaf, has this influenced you to learn sign language, how would/did you learn this and would this tool help you to learn sign language more quickly?

In what other ways has being deaf affected you and how will this tool help you or the people you know who does not know sign language?

I guess but this is suppose to eliminate that in some way or to teach someone how to communicate to the deaf using sign language
