Not surprised, military barracks are good for emergency if there is little or no hotel availability.

Lucky get a bed.Happened to me and many others we just slept on airport floor also with no info no money back...I think good of Canada to do that and yes the crew got get good nights sleep.
Rather have uncomfortable night than a plane flying that needed maintenance.

I got stuck on the runway for about 5 hours b/c of a storm by the time it was safe to fly the pilots been on duty too long to fly so everyone was driven to a motel to stay over night.
