Much like Xbox live, PSN gets some more entertainment with movies and tv shows for rent or buy and as you buy some movies you can transfer the movie into your PSP which is nice. Starts from Action/Adventure, Comedy, Drama, Sci-fi, Horror, Anime, and so on...

But...the only very bad news that none of us like is that it lacks captions or subtitles like Xbox live so it is a major disappointment to the deaf community.

MS and Sony stole Apple's idea.

If you need movie with CC then get Apple TV but only under 100 movies are captioned since none of tv shows are captioned, it's possible to be more captioned in few years.

iTunes is free, just download on PC or Mac, I like iTunes better than online video service.

Did you know that PS3 have a "PlayTV" but I think its only available in Europe.

It may come to America, but what's the point when there's already movies and tv shows on the PSN?

They still ignore giving us what the deaf required...subtitles. and I bet with the PlayTV wont even show captions.

Misleding!!!!!!! Xbox 360 and PS3 have provided CC if using a HDMI. Netflix doesn't have provided CC if using player from a PC because all monitors do not have CC.

HDMI? WTF?

HDMI and comopsite cables have very complicated signals as a way to get CC. I never seen such a thing where it provides CC from HDMI.

I only have composite for the PS3 displaying it in 1080i as I use VGA for the Xbox360 showing around 720p. My TV dont have HDMI and even if I wanted to get a DVI to HDMI converter, I would but I already bought it and it wouldnt fit worth shit on my TV besides I have to get another cable for the audio as well.

If HDMI can provide CC, then why cant composite? And have you download any movies/TV shows to see if thats even capitoned??

Correction is component cable since composite cable is yellow.

No, HDMI and component cable don't have CC decode support via TV set, except for 480i via component cable on some HDTV, however most HDTV don't support CC option in HDMI and component mode, now, your post has nothing to match Steel's topic.

All CC decode for internet video must be in application support, such as Quicktime, iTunes, Hulu or other video. There's 50+ movies from iTunes support CC and decoded is came from application to make get CC works, also video need be programmed on CC before start display. If Netflix want add CC to movie stream then need have written in decode via application and programming the video, that all way about how works on internet.

For good example, PowerDVD has CC support, it means they have CC decode in file, that where programmers are written in and it will display on DVD movie if CC in DVD is programmed.

According to some engineers I've had discussions with, it is not possible to pass a CC signal through HDMI. It is not a part of the final specs for the latest HDMI cables. It is only possible to overlay the CC onto the video signal. That's why some HDTV receivers allow people to turn on the CC decoder from the box and not the TV.

That's why it's better to include CC decoders with everything these days, not just the TV sets.

Well, it has nothing with cable issue for internet video.

Internet video is different from DVD, it's application based that where written to add CC decode in file, that how CC got worked, even movies need be programmed too (like add CC into movie).

No, iTunes store started launch in 2003 in US and doesn't sell tv shows and movies until 2005 when 5G iPod released with first video support since Connect music store is launched in 2005/2006 but doesn't release in US until 2006.

It means Sony stole Apple's idea, that it.

Connect music store isn't support Mac, it sucks, however iTunes is best digital music/video store.

Yes, that's correct. I was explaining to steel and Pacman that Xbox 360, the system does have a CC/Subtitle feature. Turn it enable and it works. I have done it because I saw it with my own eyes. I found out last month when i went to my deaf friend house and we were debating Xbox elite system with 120GB. I said why 120gb? he said download movies from MS marketplace. I said its pointless because there is no CC. he was like what the fuck are you talking about? and I am showing you. I was like ok and gulped. I said HOW? what did you do? I checked and he was using HDMI. I don't understand if HDMI works and then component should be working also but not.

You also right that I have a digital cable with HDMI through my HDTV and it does have CC because digital cable has built in CC decoder or something. and It turns CC on.
 
No, you don't get my point, CC is work on Xbox 360 when watch DVD movies over composite cable only since subtitles on DVD are work on any cable because subtitle were programmed with movie instead of application or hardware.

Online video (Xbox Live Marketplace) on Xbox 360 doesn't support CC or subtitle, I had downloaded some of video, rest of them aren't CC or subtitle, no matters about what kind of cable that using, if it does work on you then please show of source that support your statement.

I have HD receiver from Directv and it has CC decoder built-in, it works over component and HDMI, I already know in long time ago before you told it.
