TRUSTWORTHINESS



A person of character is trustworthy, lives with integrity, and is honest, reliable and loyal.

Integrity

DO: Stand up for your beliefs and Follow your conscience and Be honorable and upright and Live by your principles no matter what others say and Have the courage to do what is right and try new things even when it is hard, costly, or you might fail and Build and guard your reputation and your name.

DON'T: Do anything you know is wrong and Lose heart if you fail or don't get what you want.

Honesty

DO: Tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth and Be sincere and Be forthright and candid.

DON'T: Lie, Cheat, Steal and Be sneaky, tricky or deceptive.

Reliability

DO: Keep your promises and Honor your word and commitments and Be dependable and What your are supposed to do - return what you borrow; pay your debts; be on time.

Loyalty

DO: Stand by, stick up for, and protect your family, friends, school, and country and Be a good friend and Look out for those who care about you and Keep secrets of those who trust you.

DON'T: Betray a trust and Let your friends hurt themselves and Do anything that is wrong, even for a friend or just so others will like you and Ask a friend to do anything wrong or spread rumors or gossip that could hurt others.

CITIZENSHIP

A person of character is a good citizen, does his or her share, helps the community, plays by the rules, and respects authority and law.

Do Your Share

DO: Be a good citizen and a good neighbor and Care about and pursue the common good and Be a volunteer- help your school and community be better, cleaner and safer and Protect the environment by conserving resources, reducing pollution, and cleaning up after yourself and Participate in making things better by voicing your opinion, voting, serving on committees, reporting wrongdoing, and paying taxes.

Respect Authority and Law

DO: Play by the rules and Obey parents, teachers, coaches, and others who have been given authority and Observe just laws and Honor and respect principles of democracy.
