This is for a class project I'm doing. What I need is your opinion on educating deaf people using total communication. Thanks!!

Well it's becoming obsolete. There are still schools that teach with TC, but more and more schools are coming over to bi-bi.
TC is too confusing lingusiticly. You need to keep the two languages seperate.

I grew up with TC and can sign and speak both ASL and Spoken English though I find it MUCH easier to sign with TC/English word order because it is much easier to make "grammatically correct" in written English. I also personally prefer to speak and sign. Doing that with pure ALS would mean my hands are doing something completely different than my mouth but most people don't consider people who live in both worlds.
Going bi-bi (which is bilingual and bicultural is also a great route).
TC had major downfalls because it is so clunky but it can be useful with learning English since it is patterned after English grammar and includes the small words like "the".
The most important thing is to go with what works best for you or your loved one. Don't choose or eschew any method because someone on the internet does or doesn't like that method.
