Tips on using Peroxide

Most of us have used this product for years for certain things. The health benefits of peroxide. This was written by Becky Ransey of Indiana.

"I would like to tell you of the benefits of that plain little old bottle of 3% peroxide you can get for under $1.00 at any drug store. My husband has been in the medical field for over 36 years, and most doctors don't tell you about peroxide, or they would lose thousands of dollars."

1. Take one capful (the little white cap that comes with the bottle) and hold in your mouth for 10 minutes daily, then spit it out. (I do it when I bathe ).

No more canker sores and your teeth will be whiter without expensive pastes. Use it instead of mouthwash. (small print says mouth wash and gargle right on the bottle).

2. Let your toothbrushes soak in a cup of "Peroxide" to keep them free of germs.

3. Clean your counters, table tops with peroxide to kill germs and leave a fresh smell. Simply put a little on your dishrag when you wipe, or spray it on the counters.

4. After rinsing off your wooden cutting board, pour peroxide on it to kill salmonella and other bacteria.

5. I had fungus on my feet for years - until I sprayed a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water on them (especially the toes) every night and let dry.

6. Soak any infections or cuts in 3% peroxide for five to ten minutes several times a day. My husband has seen gangrene that would not heal with any medicine, but was healed by soaking in peroxide.

8. Fill a spray bottle with a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water and keep it in every bathroom to disinfect without harming your septic system like bleach or most other disinfectants will.

9. Tilt your head back and spray into nostrils with your 50/50 mixture whenever you have a cold, or plugged sinuses. It will bubble and help to kill the bacteria. Hold for a few minutes then blow your nose into a tissue.
10. If you have a terrible toothache and cannot get to a dentist right away, put a capful of 3% peroxide into your mouth and hold it for ten minutes several times a day. The pain will lessen greatly.

11. And of course, if you like a natural look to your hair, spray the 50/50 solution on your wet hair after a shower and comb it through. You will not have the peroxide burnt blonde hair like the hair dye packages, but more natural highlights if your hair is a light brown, faddish, or dirty blonde. It also lightens gradually so it's not a drastic change.

12. Put half a bottle of peroxide in your bath to help rid boils, fungus, or other skin infections.

13. You can also add a cup of peroxide instead of bleach to a load of whites in your laundry to whiten them. If there is blood on clothing, Pour directly on the soiled spot. Let it sit for a minute, then rub it and rinse with cold water. Repeat if necessary.

14. I use peroxide to clean my mirrors with, and there is no smearing which is why I love it so much for this.

I could go on and on. It is a little brown bottle no home should be without!
With prices of most necessities rising, I'm glad there's a way to save tons of money in such a simple, healthy manner.

#13 is what I do with the clothes. It actually works and it removes the blood off from the clothes immediately. I don't know about the other tips that is listed in here but it sounds worth the try.

Interesting about the Peroxide... thanks for posting it in here jolie. :)

Thank you Jolie_77 I will have to try some of these tips especially when I wash the car and truck windows !!!!! ;)

Peroxide water is best in a hydrogen fuel generator.

My mother take few drops of peroxide for her emphaysis daily and it helped her sugar blood to bring down to normal level.

I copied the tips and sent to some of my friends and some of cousins,

I got some reactions..
but.. my sister in law is pharmctist..
she said "I cannot comment on external use, but this is a poison when taken orally and should NEVER be swallowed."

so .. I agreed. :)

Ah wow - long list. LOL I've never heard of peroxide that will work, but I'll might try and see, if it works for me. :D

Thanks for the tip ! :)

peroxide still used today as listed above?

Yes - I have done most of the tips and it's great. We keep at least 4 bottles in the house. Kitchen, bathrooms and first aid kit.

I have not tried for teeth whitening, though I could use something for that. It does kill canker sore in the mouth.

I keep peroxide, vinegar and baking soda in large quantities in the house.

Kristina, knowing how handy you are, what are some of your tricks with vinegar or baking soda? I'd love some new tricks! Ty!

I use Soft Scrub with bleach cleaner for stain spot removal instead of peroxide or clorox bleach if my bottle went out or forgot to buy one.

Vinegar is a handy cleaner all around. I have a spray bottle of diluted vinegar for the bathroom and it keeps all the tile and faucets shiny and will remove water spots. I will use vinegar in the shower as it will make sure all the soap is off my body. I am allergic to soaps and cleaners, so that's an important one for me. We clean the stove top, MIL's microwave and coffee pots with vinegar once a week. With the coffee pots, we run a full pot of vinegar through the cycle and then 2 pots of water afterwards. It cleans all deposits and such from the innards and water lines.

Baking soda made into a paste will take the sting out of a sunburn, and bee, wasp, or yellow jacket stings. Baking soda paste is also a good thing to scrub your baking pans and corning ware dishes with. If I have stains on the Corelle dishware, the baking soda paste will also get those stains off. If there are sweaty stains in our clothes (think guys and outdoor doings), then 1 cup of baking soda in the washer with your detergent will clean those right out. After a while, towels get a funky smell, so wash with baking soda. Also, if you put baking soda in the washer with your sheets, they will be softer and smell fresher, which is great on those winter nights when you want something soft.

If I think of more, I will post them. That's just off the top of my head.

Cool, thanks!!!! I like these kinds of household tips that come from something so cheap to buy. Peroxide, vinegar, and baking soda all are inexpensive and useful compared to name brands that don't even always get the job done.

You can also to Peroxide to made your dog to vomit if it ate something like a bag paper from a fast food place! Finlay found a McDonald bag and before I could get it out of his mouth he ate the whole bag!! I gave him some Peroxide
mixed with a little water and Finlay vomited it up within seconds! You have give the Peroxide according to how much your dog weight.

Ahh didn't see this tips back then but thanks Jolie77 for sharing this tips with us! awesome… I do #1 and #2 as well as brushing with peroxide with addition of baking soda.

Peroxide is good for disinfecting minor scraps and cuts.

But I don't see how it can be good if put inside your nose or mouth.

The mouth or particularly sinuses need salty environment, therefore it is necessary to rinse with saline solution - salty water in other words,
not peroxide.

unless, for a very limited period of time, then, maybe.

I would never use peroxide on open wounds. It kills the good bacteria as well as the bad ones. And think about it, it's bleach! if you won't put it on your eyes then why on a bleeding open wound? That never made any sense to me. Was pretty happily surprised seeing Dr Oz saying the same thing on his show.
