Times Warner Cable/Comcast merger?

Why wouldn't they?

If its already set to happen seems to me that either the regulators have nothing to do with it or it's already a done deal.

Exactly. Pretty sure you're gut is wrong.

Time Warner has been sold quite a few times, now it's under the name Bright House in a lot of areas. It will probably be sold off quite a few more times as it has been over the years.

As a Time Warner customer . . . :hmm:

Yes, I know Tampa metro is under Bright House, same goes with Orlando.

I didn't know they'd been sold before. That changes things.

We get good customer service with TWC. Our friends complain about bad service from Comcast. I hope we don't lose the good service or get a rate hike.

Do you believe in competition?

Yes.

In our area, the cable companies are assigned by town. Our town was assigned TWC, and the towns around us were some Comcast, and some TWC. Not really competition that way either. We were just lucky to get TWC.

regulators have everything to do with it. they will decide whether or not to permit it.

it's called Antitrust Law.

Yes, I don't like monopoly.

I prefer to have more than 1 cable companies.

Now, DirecTV, Dish Network and at&t U-verse/Verizon FIOS are compete with cable companies.

I am hoping there won't be a merger because I am currently a TWC customer and I have not ever really liked Comcast.

Great news - you aren't alone... We are against on Comcast and TWC merger.

I have never experienced their services. Don't think they serve Northern IL.

They only dominated in limited market, especially city of Birmingham, Tampa metro, Orlando metro, Bakersfield and Indy.
