DNA evidence says they're not guilty, why stuck in prison? Free them!

You misread it. The DNA evidence they had didn't prove that they were guilty. It didn't prove that they were innocent. It didn't prove anything.

That's not the same as saying DNA evidence says they're not guilty.

That is right, it does not prove the guilty, it only mere points out that DNA test failed to link one of them to crime. Maybe he is guilty or maybe he is not.

Its my belief that the three did not kill those children and I'm glad they will be freed. That case was flawed from the beginning.

Yeah, if they are truly innocent, glad they didn't get execution date. If had that happened, then justice is messed up and I considered this murder.

I'm not a fan of capital punishment. I firmly believe a number of people were wrongly put to death while they were innocent. I'm not speaking of the 3 men in this article as I don't know if they are still guilty or not, just speaking generally.

i dont blame victim's family

court will be this December

The part I do not get is that they pled guilty but at the same time maintained their innocence...so they could be released.. It is some sort of legal manuver to prevent a lawsuit.

I do think they are guilty.. The guy with the low IQ would not be able to make up the stuff he confessed to the police.

I bet that is because of lengthy questioning to these guys before the trial. Often they are excessive to the point where they said "ALRIGHT yeah I am guilty so you can fucking shut up and I go sleep" Has that happened? Oh yes it has happen fairly often.

Just think if you had to deal with cops questioning you over and over again for hours and hours what would you do in the end to stop this even though you knew your innocent? I bet you that you will end up saying oh yea, I did this. Then they all left you alone and start court procedure, bam your thrown in jail.

I know one true story and it happen on movie I think it is called "Just ask my children" Where two teenager (as witness, and has no relationship to the parent) lied to authorities that they saw a parent molested their own kids, so District Attorney believe the witness, and wanted to make themselves look good. So, they questions two poor boys for days and days until the point where they said yeah, they touched me so that they can leave them alone. Parents was stuck in prison for over 10 years. Finally two sons came forward and said everything is hogwash and these events never happened.

I wouldn't take guilty plea as determinate whether they are guilty as charged.

Has anyone taken the time to look extensively into the details of this case?

I was hoping that the TV network that had the original hour-long report a few years back might replay it. The current news stories are pretty sketchy.

I was hoping so, too. The case is really interesting, and the discrepancies are disturbing. Was it Frontline that did the original documentary?

I have read an article that blew my mind. Indeed the three needs to be released. It was a witch hunt and very sloppy police work from the beginning.

Yes, of course I have. The only thing has been bothering me for the past 15 years after watching the documentary films of Paraside Lost part 1 and 2 is that these three men were not being provided a polygraph. It may help clearing their names that they did not commit 18 years ago.
There were some bite marks on three little boys and all of these wrongly convicted men's dentures exams that DID NOT match to the bite marks.

The knife which was found in the pond behind Jason Baldwin's residence by the polices. But the forensic documents in the defendant lawyer of three convicted men claimed that the knife did not match to one of the deceased boys' wounded body. The polices must have planted the knife in the pond behind Jason's home.

One of the deceased boys' stepfather Terry Hobbs's DNA of his own hair was found at the crime scene. I am surprised that no one in the police dept took seriously that he and his friend David could be the prime suspects. Other victim's stepfather John Mark Byers's bottom teeth which has contained a gap between teeth, the forensic lab did not take a denture exam for the bite marks on victims' bodies. And David's too. They should have done it by then. John had physically abused Chris prior to the murders. There is too many shady informations and documents from the prosecutors, the West Memphis police department and the judge.

Jesse Misskelley's confession was clearly a coercion by the police at that time during the 14 hours questioning in a room without food, water, especially without a lawyer being provided in order to present with him. The police could have used him very easily due to his IQ level.
