I've seen "Rock on" hand sign at the concert and yelled, "You Rock!"

First picture is not my hand, not me. ;)

well i dont think it is sign language but also i did saw some sign "i love you" hand but it also for rock on too, sometime it got me confused and wonder why they said that lol

I :dunno: But, it seems to be popular in the deaf community lately where I've seen animate pictures of them signing "Deaf rocks!"

IMO, I don't actually think it is an actual sign. I've seen a lot of other people (both deaf and hearing) use this 'rock on' hand symbol when they attend an event or whenever they are interacting with another people.

It's more like a 'trend' when in reality, this sign is just to be used in a way to say 'I'm cool, you rock', so and on.

I've seen people use this sign for "bullshit" and for "Texas Longhorns".

In football, it means, "second down".

I guess it could mean different things.

i would says ROCKS! than nothing! mostly deaf always do that says ROCKS or Texas Longhorns its doesnt matter!

i have never seen it for bullshit, its rock on, or rock hard.

It means different things to different people. To you it may mean "rock on" or "rock hard" (whatever that is), but to others it may mean something differnet. Throughout the 80's, it meant "bullshit" in some areas or to some people. Now, in Texas, it means "University of Texas Longhorns".

That's sort of Beavis and Butthead's symbol like they do in heavy metal music with that hand sticking up in the air and they shake their head up and down.

This was in the 90's. I think it was really stupid. :giggle:

Its starting to become obvious to me that we are talking about two different generations.

I just asked my daughter what it meant. She said, "rock on"... so, yeah... its a generation thing.

what hand "sign" are we talking about? what does it look like?

Just like the I Love You sign but without the thumb - so you see just the index and first fingers.

I see that used all the time for "bullshit" and, of course, "you rock" ... Depends on who you're talking to.

thanks for answering my question, alleycat. :)

like you, i've also heard this sign represent the same words you mentioned as well as "rock hard."

So that means hearing people do use sign language!

In Italy it is called "horns" Pointed at a man, it means his wife is unfaithful.

A hearing sign in Italy.

C'mon people, it's called Devil's horns! It originated with Ronnie James Dio of Rainbow and later, Black Sabbath.

I really must insist that you guys rock out more often. :P
