A genetic test may tell you something but in the end you must deal with what you actually have as determined by Hearing tests given to you. I suppose knowing exactly which side of your family has the "hearing loss genes" won't really help you.In reality I know which side of my family-father-has that genes. I have already "passed" it on to my oldest son but not my youngest son-as of now.Seems to be the male side-so far.
In the end one must your "genetic heritage" and go on from there.
