How long do you think it will be before it will be at least 5 years before something "new" re hearing aids will have emerged - and would you change yours to the last "new thing" straight away if this happened?

Personally I think technology is overrated. They have all these annoying gizmos and gadgets to make the HA experiance better. My old audi was pushing this dumbass switch that filtered out background noise..........I didn't need it whatsoever. The changes in technology seem to be mostly targeted towards old people or the people who are very invested in auditory-verbal. (one of their philosphies is that dhh kids need the latest technologically advanced HA)

depends on the individual . I'm actually in a range where hearing aids don't offer very good benefit..I guess this will not change with technology as my little residual hearing isn't enough for a good speech perception. so I'm thinking of getting a CI in 2008 if the insurance company approves of me
