The Simpsons always bother me, which town they are in?? They kept said address is Springfield, USA... Could be Mass, PA, Colorado, Ill, else?? My guess they are in Massachusett... Whats ur prediction where they are live in... I will continue research on this one, ha...

There are over 30 states that have the city named Springfield. The actual state remains a mystery, but the creator based the location with Portland, Oregon.

If you watch the show, you'll notice that it sometimes takes place near the mountains. Other times, it's near an ocean. Other times, it's near the desert. It could be anywhere. It varies on what happens in the episode. ;)

It's a imaginary city, so it doesn't really exist in real life. The Simpsons movie will be out in 2007, so maybe we'll find more about them!

Yea, I noticed they used beach, mountain, desert, 5 states line (really 4 states, can walk around borderline on 4 states each), casino, and more...

I believe it's in Virgina since Virgina has beach and mountains anyway.

Interesting! I always thought it was located in Illnois!

Just google and got in a forum thats about Simpson, and I got the info... Not exactly hard core evidence, but very suggestive..

Here is quote from somebody who lives there before.

I believe that I am from the great state of Illinois and that is where the real Springfield is. Does anyone remember the episode where they look for Springfield on a map of the US? Doesnt Bart's head block out the Mid-west and not the East Coast? In Springfield, IL there is a real Lake Springfield, a power plant, and is the Capital of Illinois. Thus is why I feel that I am from the home of the Sompson's - Springfield, IL. Go back to the early seasons and you will see that there are more Springfield, IL references in those episodes.

So, he/she may or may not be correct. Who knows?

Illinois does seem make sense and
I actually thought Springfield, Missouri

If you check Wikipedia.org, you'll see more information. :thumb:

That's 34 states so far and I thought that creator use ideal that Springfield from 34 different city into one. That way The Simpson get everything for fancy adventure.

That would be Texas and California, they got everything include casino, border of Mexico and more.

Only different thing...
CA have mountain with snow cap and cold sea, TX don't.
TX got grassland and swamp, CA don't.

I thought I saw on one of The Simpson that it show on US map that flew from middle of nowhere to Washington DC. Hmmm

What about the nuclear power plant? Springfield, IL got atomic power plant in town!

California, Oregon and Washington has everything in one state, technically. Sea, mountains, lakes, rivers, flat-lands, desert, etc.

Gee... here's a map of all the Springfields. ;)
