About time! He gets booed by 2 Aussie MP's who were thrown out of Parliament building during Dumbya's speech.

 to the 2 Aussie MP's for standing up to Shrub!

Brown kicked out of parliament

23oct03
AUSTRALIAN Greens Senator Bob Brown was kicked out of the House of Representatives after interjecting during United States President George W Bush's speech.

Senator Brown interrupted Mr Bush's address to a joint sitting of parliament.

Speaker of the House Neil Andrew asked Senator Brown to leave the chamber and then ordered him to be removed by the sergeant at arms.

Mr Bush paused during the interruption, and smiled at Prime Minister John Howard before resuming his speech.

Later Greens Senator Kerry Nettle was also ejected from the chamber.

Interrupted a second time, Mr Bush responded by telling the chamber: "I love free speech."

Senator Brown earlier addressed protesters outside parliament, telling them it was appalling the Australian people were locked out of the parliament building during Mr Bush's visit.

"This is a parliament disconnected from the people in service to a visiting head of state who does not respect people of this country," Senator Brown told protesters.

Well, me for one -- am not keen on Bush and his visit here. Kudos to the Australian MPs and the public who aren't in favour of Bush and his tactics he used for the Iraq, Saddam, and Osama bin Laden affairs.
I realise that Bush did what he believed was best for the country, but I feel he went too far.

I think you're being generous by saying Bush did what he believed was best for the country (U.S.) I think his motives are much more devious than that. And I have to say, the more I've learned about John Howard, he seems no better, just not as powerful. I'd be interested in your view of Australian govt compared to ours here, since you've lived both places

I'm just so glad that George Bush has fucked off out of Australia. I only wish George took John Howard and the whole fucking Australian parliament with him.

Australian pollies are low life, scum sucking, slubbering sloths... who love to stick their faces in the arses of overseas dignitaries in the vain hope that some international glory and recognition will shine on them.

George Bush did fuck all for America. He was only working for the imperialist conquest of the multinatuionals. I can't help, but feel there is an underlying stink of fascism in the way America and its culture works. This is a country that spends so much money on the military and begrudges its own citizens a decent welfare safety net. And that is what our fucking prime minister wants to emulate.

I work with an American, so I do get some insight and confirmation of what's going on....but I do know that there is a big dissent and opposition to Bush and the conservative right in the States.

A show called CNNNN which is satire on the cable news show CNN, did a lot of vox pops [street interviews] in America, and I could not believe the ignorance and insularity of their thinking. But the irony is, swap Australia for America and you get much the same thing - .......I'm gonna stop here!

Hmmm, yes, I've heard abt that CN4 show, a friend of mine said he'd send me some clips from it. I've heard it's hilarious!

I've been reading this journalist, Phillip Adams, from Australia, who was recommended to me, and it's an interesting viewpoint of Australian culture and politics. His writing style is captivating, you don't know if you want to laugh or cry. He kinda reminds me of Molly Ivins here, who is never afraid to stick it to the powers that be.
