The Return Of The Back-Alley Abortion

The Supreme Court ultimately ruled that states must make abortion legal at least until the fetus is viable, around 22 to 24 weeks into pregnancy. The Guttmacher Institute, a reproductive health research organization, estimates that before Roe, as many as 1.2 million women a year in the U.S. resorted to primitive, self-induced abortions or sought out illegal, amateur providers. Thousands of women ended up in hospitals each year with severe complications related to illegal abortions, and in 1965 alone, nearly 200 women died from those procedures.

As a result, researchers and women's health advocates say, women today are resorting to many of the same dangerous methods they relied on in the pre-Roe era: seeking out illegal abortion providers, as Karen Hulsey did, or attempting risky self-abortion procedures.

Oh, that's very sad and I expect that illegal abortion will increase if government put more restriction or ban on abortion.

I don't condone illegal abortion, but unfortunately, it doesn't stop black market from offering abortion.

It is no win for pro-life and pro-choice.

Problem is our government "Likes" to control whatever they want to, and seem fit it and never learn anything from them.

No wonder why our government was so broke…. they broke too many rules that was intended to prevent government from going into red.

You mean like the insanity of exporting our most valuable tax base, our manufacturing sector? How about at the same time limiting taxes for the corporate interests and individuals who profited most from it?

Or do you mean the part where we stage a fake economic recovery while still perpetuating the cause and continuation of the true failure?

And should we continue the insanity of ignoring the fact that these disastrous policies made our enemies stronger perpetuating the need for the ongoing investment in a vast array of military expenditures while making the world less safe by selling weapons systems and hardware to support it?

We have carried out the exact recipe for failure of a successful and powerful nation. May God help us all.
