Yea, aren't you surprised? Some of my friends were like "WHAT??" Yes, no shit. Wel, I don't think it needs to remake. Same story, same plots, different actors. Colin Farrell plays a vampire neighbor. Bleeeeeh! 1985 Fright Night is the best original, I am sure of it. Remake of Fright night gonna suck balls!!

I didn't know this is a remake. It figures though. Im still on the fence about it. It does have Collin Ferrell in it.... meaning I will be subjected to 1 1/2- 2 hours of horrible acting. Not sure how, but he will be the only actor to mess up a vampire role.

I saw this and freaked!!! The original is THE best!

What do they hope to achieve by remaking it?

For it's time, the special effects are still good today.

Thats like remaking Jaws or ET - it's not done!!

Too many remakes, I bet Hollywood are out of ideas. :hmm:

They are and another remake of The Planet of the Apes is due out this month, all CGI work, doesn't even look real. It's gonna suck too.

I wouldn't consider the original to be an ordinary horror movie. It was more of a comedy with a touch of horror to it. Actually, the Rise of the Planet of the Apes isn't a remake, it's a prequel to the original. It's about how the apes took over the world.

The original Fright Night is pretty good so I see no point or reason why it should be a remake of this movie.

I loved Fright Night even though I'm not really into vampires.

They can't find good writers that can come up with original ideas. Either that or all the ideas have all been used up....

Sometimes, scripts don't always work out the way they want it due to limitations in technology and special effects. So, they remake some movies because they now have the technology to do so.

Other reasons are for the horror/gore/blood/scare factor.

I hate when there is a remake of movie , it never as good as the first one.
And when it said the movie is like one of Alfred Hitchcock film I never find that to be true. I think he was a master in making movie.

I know and roll my eyes sometimes at remakes too but a buddy told me it was actually good so Ill put this on my list of movies to see...on dvd or blu-ray
