Hello,
I am Sumo Banout.
I have just registered today, and I am looking forward to talking to anyone who will say hi.
Sumo is a nickname a freind gave me because I was at one time the original Ragin Cajun of the World Wrestling Empire pro wrestling circuit. I was injured 11 years ago and have retired to a regular job as a dock worker for a large office supply company.
I have never reall emmersed my self in the deaf community because of pride,
I was too proud to say I am a deaf man and like it or not.
But as I approach my 46 th birthday this month I realize I need some deaf freinds who underastand what I feel sometimes.
I have been diagnosed as profoundly deaf, I however experience the noise and sounds of the hearing world, I must say I prefer the silence.
Many times I just take off my aide and just enjoy the quite and this drives my freinds nuts because they hollar at me and I ignore them.
I have three daughters and all have perfect hearing. all are grown and gone on their own. My wife of 26 years is full hearing and is about to toss me cause I drive her nuts with the loud TV and ignoring her too.
But thats another story. I am looking for some new freinds, by the way my real name is Mark.

Hey Mark,

Welcome to AD! I'm a newb too and your situation sounds a lot like mine. That's why I'm here.

Have a great day!

:welcome: Enjoy your stay and I'm sure you will make many deaf friends here on AllDeaf.com and few other websites. Glad to have you here.

Welcome to alldeaf! And also my friend lives not far from my home won National Champion Deaf Wrestling couple years ago.

Welcome to AD, Mark.
I know realization must be difficult but you know we don't bite :giggle: ..
We would love to support, encourage and be your friends. I know my grandfather is loosing his hearing that is why when I am done with these hearing aids I am going to pass them to him. My grandmother has had enough with the loud TV and him not knowing what she said to him LOL. It's a real struggle sometimes, but she does good. She has been with me so I mean she know she has to look at him, and not talk when she is turned around back facing towards him. She wants to learn ASL as well. Besides the point, enjoy your stay here and if you ever wanna chat just PM me.

Hugs, RG
