...I learn about ASL, the more I realize just just how complex it is. ASL, on the surface looks easy, but once you get into it (like I am) boy is it a hard as heck language to learn. Wow! :eek3:

Yes it is super complex. Actually, I never thought it would be easy. Over 2 years later and it's still kicking my butt. :ugh2: I imagine that if i were learning a spoken language, I'd be more accomplished at it than I am at ASL at this point.

I know the feeling but I'm getting a hang of it pretty good. All you have to do is keep in mind that you're painting the story to them (with French syntax).
 
And I await the wondrous tapestry that you two (SC'sC & Jiro) shall weave. :P
 
I learn two signs everyday. That's plenty for me. Grrr. I will always love ASL though. And I know I will be fluent one day- I am sure of it.
 
I just rub the thumb side of my A-hand on my chin twice...that's all I need.

I am fluent in ASL now, I picked it up quicker than I thought.

And if you think your ASL sucks, go and make a brief video and show us, and we'll tell you whether you are good or not!

I'd like to do that but I've got to get a decent webcam. The one i have now isn't any good. :roll:

Lot's of people have told me my signing skills are pretty good but...well, i'm my own worst critic.

- I started to learn 10 years ago, but I become intense learning since last year, took me a year to become a bit fluent.

- Get a Logitech QuickCam 9000
 
A videophone with the deaf people can help improve your ASL skills.
 
I gather with a Deaf group every other Monday night and even though I leave fustrated (because I don't understand anything), I do learn a just a (tiny) little bit each time. It's a slow process for me. I am retarded and a slow learner. :zzz:
 
I have my OJO but I never use it in several months. make design to iron clothes. :lol:
