Just in case the vitiated, divisive racial atmosphere in Ferguson, Mo. wasn’t enough of a circus for you, now comes word that the original troglodytic race-baiters are coming to make things even worse.
That’s right, whatever remaining knuckle-dragging nimrods there might be in the Ku Klux Klan have announced that they’re jumping in to the free-for-all over Michael Brown’s death.
According to TPNN, a flier being distributed by members of the group is raising some eyebrows, with the group saying that they “will use lethal force as provided under Missouri law to defend ourselves.” I’m not quite sure how many Klan members there are in Ferguson, as I don’t recall seeing any unemployable mullet-sporting men wearing sheets in footage of the unrest this summer, but apparently they mean business.
The flier, apparently designed by someone using Microsoft Office for the first time, begins with the warning, “Attention: To the terrorists masquerading as ‘peaceful protestors’! [sic]”
“You have awakened a sleeping giant. The good people of St. Louis County of all races, colors, and creeds will not tolerate your threats of violence against our police officers, their families, and our communities.”
Yes, the sleeping giant of the KKK, which I’m assuming now consists of five guys stuffed in the truck bed of a rusty 1983 Subaru Brat, has thrown down the gauntlet, and things are about to get real.
“We will not sit by and allow you to harm our families, communities, property nor [sic] disrupt our daily lives.” (Who here isn’t surprised that a screed from the Klan has this many grammatical/syntactical errors?)
After pasting the Missouri code for the justification of self defense, the Klan flier reads, “You have been warned by the Ku Klux Klan! There will be consequences for your acts of violence against the peaceful, law abiding citizens of Missouri.”
It ends with contact info for people who want help from the Klan in setting up a neighborhood watch in their area. Because if there’s one thing that cross-burning, pro-lynching organizations are known for, it’s community service.
While the remaining members of the KKK could fit in a double-wide – and I’m assuming often do, for meetings – there’s no denying the group makes good copy, which means you’ll probably see this reported ad nauseum in the next few days.
However, it isn’t surprising that America’s OG racists are getting involved in Ferguson. Everyone from Al Sharpton and the Crips all the way up to Eric Holder and President Obama have tried to foment anger by exploiting racial division and stereotypes over the Michael Brown case.
It was only a matter of time before America’s most infamous race baiters showed up and tried to get their piece of the pie.
