Being discriminated against gives you an ability to understand the complexities involved in first and second language acquisition for children born with a hearing loss? Or it gives you the ability to understand what it is like to have to completely conduct your life and interactions with your child in a language you are just beginning to learn? It gives you the ability to understand the emotional and psychological intricacies of raising a deaf child who hears?
