After I watch the original n' classic movie of "The Day the Earth Stood Still". I find interest until the suddenly-in-disappointment on the ending. It went the almost same as the remake.

However, the plot in pattern are different in old and new day in such as different situation on our society in past and present.

Therefore, I done with watch recently on theatre with open-caption. I begin like that classic one better than the remake movie.

I like myself when I look at the ending. "What??? Is that it?!?!"

The classic movie has always been my favorite since I was a kid.

Hubby got me the DVD of the classic movie this Christmas. :)

I haven't seen the classic or the remake but i think i would prefer watching the old school one first.

Cool bean! I find cozy how the alien make comfortable with kid in classic than rather seen in remake which I find is somewhere little dark.

:topic: Sometimes remakes are totally pointless.

Case in point: Psycho staring Vince Vaugn and Anne Heche.

Why???

For some reason these next-gen kids aren't into the classic, so that's part of business they're encourage to have new people to know their original story in new visual which they're more comfortable.

In fact, I have know several youth aren't into classic Star Wars trilogy because they look crap as they prefer new Star Wars trilogy. That's hurt me.

Proves the point that young people today (i'm sounding oh-so-very old at the ripe age of 31) tend to be a little dim-witted.

Most movie remakes are horrible so its no big surprise that this one was a disappointment as well.

I go for the orginal, thank you very much.

Voted did not see either. But I hope to see both when the new one comes out on DVD.

Not always, but I find that Ocean 11 and Italian Job remake are better than classic.

I know. I just said most remakes are horrible so yea not all lol

Ocean's 11 and The Italian Job are a good example of successful movie remakes...only if that they got the story well written and hired some of the best actors as Edward Norton for The ltalian Job. George Clooney and Brad Pitt for the Ocean's 11.

Its just pretty hard to get the remake movie just right lol.
