I read something about the Chinese language originally in the beginning used with hands, before their particular writing style was originated.

Anybody know about this? I mean we all know the Oriental bow, and kicks, but not really what they represent..........I was reading an article about mudra's and how the hand patterns represent energy levels which balance and align our lives, and bodies, etc...........

I'll post in her word per word later, and we all know about how the Native Americans used a lot of sign language naturally, but the Chinese?? I mean this is just fascinating about the Chinese using Sign before the Chinese language.

The original written chinese language was pictographic - that is, a symbol represented an idea (often visually). It then evolved through a process of what is called "phonemic borrowing" (I think that's what it's called, anyway) similar to a rebus. So if two words sounded similar, then their characters would look similar.

I don't think there's a manual connection here.

Chinese is my first language and I can guarantee you that what you read is rubbish. Traditional Chinese writings are more symbolic but simplified Chinese are more widely used now and they are not symbolic at all.

I have never heard that the Chinese used signs.

When I was in Hong Kong, China for six months. I have seen the HK Deaf people borrow some of ASL when they used sign language. HK signed language very difficult to learn with same character like walk, human, dance, sleep with head and legs on your thumb and little finger.

I know few HKSL
