The ASL Club is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to promoting the language, culture, history, and community of ASL People locally, nationally, and internationally. We sponsor many enjoyable activities for the community of ASL People here and abroad, and our club members enjoy the cultivation of expressive, communicative, and social skills including organization, networking, leadership, and management. We're based out of Fallriver, MA, at the famous Bristol Community College...

Tip : Be friendly to the hearing people.

Our ASL meetup group has a high membership because we are friendly to the hearing people. Unlike the other ASL meetups around us whom deaf members would chat with only the other deafs and ignore the hearing people.

I agree!

Our ASL Meetup is for deaf to chat, not just to chat with the deaf, but with hearing people too.
Also with students who are learing ASL.

Hey, I know Sandy and Pauline as I went to BCC for a semester and went to ASL classes at DEAF INC in New Bedford for awhile!

Oh, and I do agree......be open to hearing people and ALL people irregardless of whether they are unilaterally deaf or severe-profound but mostly oral.....the way to save ASL isn't going to be through being anti-CI or anti-hearie, or anti-hoh, but rather welcoming EVERYONE. Very few dhh kids got to actively chose how they wanted to communicate! ......oh and tell the library to get a subby to SignNews!

Oh, and when are the meetings? Woudl love to find out more about this!
