I want to share a story with you all that today is sadness. :( :(

I am driven to elementary school to pick up my daughters. I see the assistance teacher stood and talked with other two mothers outside of school. She turned and walked toward to me. I was alike said. What is up? She is looked like a sorrowful! She does know some signs. She explained to me that one of 8th grade students committed suicide last night. My heart sunk into my stomach. She explained that the girl has trouble family at home. Her parent through divorce and something with Restriction order issued. She was stayed in 8 grades again this year. All of her classmates are into 9 grades. :( I felt so bad for her. Her father found her hanged in the basement. Policemen were at my girl's school to explain all teachers. I got a letter from school for provide the guidance. I did talk with my daughter about this and hugged my girls. My sympathy to the girl and her family.

I woke up at 2:30 a.m. and prayed up to the sky that please forgiving to the girl! *sighs* :(

Goodnight

My god! That is really sad. Suicide is such a dreadful thing. A permanant solution to a temporary problem.
I don't understand the americian school system? 8th grade...what age would that have made her?

So sad...

.

OMG! that is so sad my heart goes out to her family :(

Kids today have so much to deal with. The schools need to start paying more attention to trouble kids :(

I think... 13 to 15 years old from 8 grades! :(

That is really tragic, inheed. Yes, suicide is permanment..many of these young teens need to understand that.

oh, how sad for all, unfortunately too common....the child must have been in great pain........

I am sorry to read this morning. It is truly sad. I wonder if she does not repeat 8th grade, she would have not committed suicide? Held back and see her friends move on is diaster to her.

aww that was awful. poor little girl. Between age 13 to 15 years old are the most difficult emotional for teenagers. I agree we all who have children to keep remindng them how much we love them no matter what if they do not make something that they aren't proud of. No matter what. :( I am scared to think about it too. :(

It's terrible sad but blame the girl's parents because they didn't watch out for her signs of depression, etc, and that she should seek a professional help, that will save her life. Well, it’s too late.
Phillips, I hope your daughters are OK after learning the girl's loss.

No one blames any parent's judgments. Some kids are capable of hiding their self esteem issues that parents never know how kids feel. We all don't know what was going on with the parents and the girl at home. :(

That is so sad :( I hope your daughters will find a way to deal with this too...

Very sad, indeed! :(

My sympathy goes to that girl and her family/friends.

I am shocked to hear this story. I have a 13 year old neice, an 8th grader. Very sad.

yeah few months earlier a teen got killed by standing near caltrain in palo alto.. she wanted to commit sucide so she did it and same with other teenager.. who was 17 at this time so they are discussing to make caltrain more safe place for teens not for them to try to hurt themselves again.. ugh I hope there will be more security around school cuz it's near train.. I agree it's real sad to know teens do stuff like that ugh years ago.. one student tried to hang himself outside in public in leigh h.s i saw whole thing back in feb of 1996 (a month before I got transferred to csd) I freaked out.. oh well life goes on but the student who tried to hang himself he's ok.. he didn't die which is good tho.. *sighs*

yes, you have to watch out for them at this age. It is when depression hit them the hardest.. and this point on too. I know three people who committed suicide in their mid 30's, late 40's but they thought about suicide since they were teenagers.
