Tech support: iPhone Video, how to save and post

So I'm a fairly new Mac user, and I've never posted any images or videos on this site. Anyone with an iPhone or Mac know how to save an iPhone video so it will upload in here? I've tried a bunch of ways and can't figure it out...

Use iPhone's Camera App to take recorder then use Photos App to open a video then click Left bottom then Send to youtube then copy a link from youtube to post here.

Make sure you have an account for youtube.

Does it have to be done through youtube?
