So the democrats still dont get it. If any governor signs this bill he will be voted out of office. We dont need anymore new taxes just like local communities try to tax the internet. This is not america anymore were becomming more and more like the old soviet union. Were losing more and more freedoms to keep money in our wallets. The answer is VOTE EM ALL OUT!! that includes people like ted kennedy,Barbra Boxer ,Diane Feinstien and the rest of the clown liberal politicans. The democrats are for dependency and socialism. Republicans are for freedom and independance.

The link here

There is no balance if our government is all repbulicans. Forget it and deal with us the liberals.

Look the democratic party wasnt even the party in the begining of america. Thomas Jefferson founded the democratic party. It was a conservitive party in the begining. The Whig party was very liberal and it died because people back then did not agree with liberalism. This is whats gonna happen to the democratic party if it keeps up with liberal veiws. My suggestion to the DNC you better go towards the center if youre gonna survive. Cause democrats are gonna into excint just like what happend to the dinosaurs.

The Republican party didn't exist in the beginning either. Wasn't Lincoln one of the founders of the Republican party?

Hey ravensteve, do we have to listen to your rubbish story?

As far as we know, the Republicans are the ones who are supporting this tax.

As far as making it law where I live, I wouldn't vote for it. The only way to counteract this is to punish those who drive gas guzzlers for a living by raising the gas taxes as more and more people move to fuel efficient cars.

Or, heck, start figuring out how to make the roads last longer with less maintenence.

I don't think taxes should be used as a "punishment." Taxes are supposed to be revenue for paying the expenses. They shouldn't be used as a punitive measure; those are called "fines".

Some people need to drive "gas guzzlers" for their businesses. My hubby's work vehicle is a full-size van, heavily loaded with equipment and supplies. He daily drives from customer to customer, over a three-county area. His equipment is powered by the van, so even when he is not "moving", his engine is running. There is no alternative to his system. He does the best he can to improve van performance by scrupulous maintenance of his van and equipment, such as keeping filters clean, parts lubricated, tires properly inflated and frequently replaced, following EPA guidelines, and renewing fluids frequently. I don't think he should be "punished" for operating his small business.

I say RAISE THE TRAFFIC FINES!!! Like they do in georgia. You realize if you speed in georgia the fine is $250? Going though a red light in georgia is a $500 fine. Going though a stop sign is $200.And get this,,If you drive drunk in georgia It will cost you $1,000 fine 30 days in jail and a hearing to evaluate your licence. So ever wonder why gas prices are dirt cheap in georgia? Cause the traffic volators pay for the new roads in georgia. So why cant other states follow georgia traffic fines examples?

I don't think that it is ridiculous to tax the internet or something like that. After all, our Post Office is going under because we no longer send letters but send all electronicially free of charge besides the internet subscription services. Why do you think the Post Office has been increasing their stamp prices dramatically within the past 5 to 10 years? And even with the current postage prices, Postal Services are still in the red. You should be grateful that the postal services provide you the service for so cheap. When I was living in Germany, it was like one mark for one letter, and right now, it's probably one euro for one letter for inside Germany. That's more than a dollar to send a letter within German frontiers.

Post office might go under but you can pay your bills online.

I'll have to check that out. Maybe the fines in Georgia have changed since the new Governor took office two years ago, the first Republican Governor since the late 1800's. I do remember being fined a little over $300 for speeding and passing a slow car on a busy two-lane highway, they also took my driver license away. When I was given the ticket, it didn't say how much the fine was, I had to call to find out how much I had to pay. I had no choice but to pay it the next day because I needed my driver license back.

Atlanta mayor Shirley Franklin and some other leaders had been trying to get something like commute tax for people living in the suburbs and Georgia and adjoining states (Alabama, Tennessee and the Carolinas) who commute to work in the corporate city limits of Atlanta. I don't know if they're still at it.

Uhh... what makes you think that it's the democrats that's favoring the idea?

Uh... do you realize that you are contradicting yourself? You're complaining that your parking tickets are too expensive. Yet, you want them to raise the fines?

There goes another one of your bullshit comments. :sure:

The next thing we know, you're gonna be slashing tires of cops who give you $400 speeding tickets!

:-o they better not! This is absurd and if they do this, Ill be dead broke. Thats enough of taxes already!

Oh I know where those gas tax goes. It goes to Iraq war. This is what voters want. Quit whine about it.

Jazzy WE WERE ATTACKED!!! you rather have some liberal to turn the other cheek like bill clinton would.
