hi,

i will skip intro as i already introduced myself, but i'm still newbie, and i need some info on t-coil.

so far i get that it comes with most of BTEs and helps you with phone conversation. what i don't understand is what kind of phone i need.
is any phone good for that, or i need certain model.
and another quetsion is about HA compatible phones. from what i heard every phone sold in Canada is HA compatilbe, but to which extent?

is there any other way to hook up power HA to the phone?

please send me some links references etc.....

thanks,
Ed

Hi there,

As your mother is older and I am guessing not super tech savy my guess would be that a regular phone with amplified hand set would work. If she is tech savy there are blue tooth options that work with some aids. I don't think the Sumo has wireless connectivity though.

From what you have said your mother doesn't have very good speech discrimination. Even with hearing aids she may not be able to use a regular telephone. Depending on where abouts you are located there are a few options. VCO or Voice Carry Over allows the person to speak for themselves in phone conversations but as the person who they are having a conversation with talks a relay operator will type what they are saying for her to read. In Canada you use the regular relay service for this (711). In the US you can use relay as well, but there is also a company called CapTel (CapTel - The Captioned Telephone)

I hope this helps! Keep the questions coming!
