Her son died and you call her a ding dong and a fringe wack job?
Do you have a son or daughter dead in Iraq? No?
So much for supporting the troops. She has much more right to complain than you have to insult her. A gold star mother has made the ultimate sacrifice. Trying to diminish this sacrifice only diminishes you.
Calling people names when they speak up is called an ad hominem attack. it only shows the weakness of your own position. Showing pictures of 'liberalism is a mental disorder' only shows how much you are NOT talking about the soldiers, but instead dismissing every thing and everybody that is not 'pro-bush'. This is not about Bush. This is not about liberalism. Its about the soldiers.
Her family? As I said before, truth wins out. I previously provided a link to wikipedia. Now let me go back and actually provide you with the
information about her families support which apparently was not read.
The only family relatives not supporting this are those that DIDN'T know Casey Sheehan.
But as I have said before its beside the point. Its not about her no matter how much you want to slander a grieving mother.
Its about the fallen soldiers.
Sixteen members of congress have drafted a petion requesting Bush to meet with Sheehan. Im sure Congress is a fringe and must be with terrorists.
A mother's son has died. She asks WHY? That is her right. But she is only one mother.. Fathers, brothers, sisters have also joined her. This is not saying that what their soldiers have done is wrong, not to tell the nation to leave, but to ask WHY.
That is what democracy is about. Its about asking questions so the entire nation can find answers together. It is NOT 'my way or the highway'. It was Founding Father Thomas Jefferson who said "Dissent is the highest form of patriotism." If you have no room in your heart to listen to those who grieve, no room in mind to listen to those who disagree, then you have no room for patriotism.[/QUO
Cindy did not make a sacrafice. Her son did.
I never equated Cindy's actions as a form of liberalism. Interesting how I use the words ding dong, and you infer I am suggesting liberals. I expressed disgust as her using her son's death as a TOOL for her own views.
Why do our soliders die? Becuase out goverment sent them to Iraq.
If you read my post clearly you would also note that I oppse the war in Iraq but I strongly oppose Cindy using her son as a tool to express her own personal beliefs. Aren't her views strong enough to stand on their own merits rather than on the very sad death of her son?
Further, where was Cindy's "Why?" crusade when her son was alive? Why now?
I think Cindy has every right to do what she is doing, just as I and many other American Patriots have the right to condem her actions. As you so clearly point out:
"That is what democracy is about. Its about asking questions so the entire nation can find answers together. It is NOT 'my way or the highway'. It was Founding Father Thomas Jefferson who said "Dissent is the highest form of patriotism." If you have no room in your heart to listen to those who grieve, no room in mind to listen to those who disagree, then you have no room for patriotism"
Does this not apply to my oppsing viewpoints? I am saying that in my view, Cindy's use of her son's death as a tool is pathetic. That is how I feel. I find the video clips of her standing there waving a cross and saying "America is not worth dying for" to be offensive and odd. That is what I feel and I am sure many others feel that way.
In MY view this whole thing is not about her son's death. It is about Cindy's need for attention and the liberal minded individuals seizing an opportunity by joining her and making this a huge media event. The fact is her son died and died as a solider of the United States of America.
