Now that I am out of school and back home in the place I call Mosquito Paradise, I'll do stuff like learning to drive and having fun outside while avoiding the mosquitoes. I'll make timelines of history in our field by putting markers or poles along it and also try making as many different polyhedra models as I can. And I'll look at stars and planets when it's clear. I also have lots of books that piled up because I was too busy to read them. So I'll read them as well as watching movies. :popcorn:

What kinds of things do you like doing during the summer?
 
I usually work alot in the summer cause of the bbq rib cook-offs...but when I am off, I go places as a family, like camping, swimming, doing outdoor activity, and stuff like that....

And I do bring my mosquitoes spray every where I go....can't leave home without it! :lol:

mosquitoes spray is horrible smell? Right?

I use lavender perfume to protect against any insects.... :lol: They can't come to us because they hate lavender.... :lol:

I use lavendar lotions during summer time with no problem. I use also lavender oil massage or bath..... ,too.
 
What kind of things do I like doing during the summertime?

I love reading books on hiking trails and looking through the USGS maps to plan the hiking intineraries. Then I go hiking and sometimes drag my bf with me *snickers* Now that the weather has turned rapidly for the best in Utah, I am trying to jab my bf to go hiking up this Mt. VanCott this weekend. LOL It's right above the University of Utah.

What else do I like? I like lessening my workload and trying to have more free time during the summer. During the year, I work about 60 hours but in summertime, maybe 40 to 50 hours. This autumn, I will start university, so it will definitely be a crazy schedule and I need to rest up before then! LOL

I like to go on a few weekend trips during the summertime, to places like Moab (3-4 hrs from SLC), Zion (3-4 hrs from SLC), Bear Lake (1-2 hrs from SLC), etc... A friend of mine moved to Idaho so maybe I will go and visit my friend in Idaho one of these weekends. The best thing about my job is that I have 4 days on 3 days off so it's a long weekend to do whatever I would like to do.

I'm not a beach person, but more of a mountain person going hiking and camping. It's hard to go hiking in other seasons because of the massive snowfalls in the mountains. In Utah, this year, the snowpack is 300 to 400% above normal levels, so I may have to wait a while before hiking higher mountains.
 
for your information .... EAT ALOT GARLIC OR ONIONS DURING SUMMER TIME! SO MOSQUITOES / FLEAS WON'T BOTHER YOU!

Garlic and onions? Not only will mosquitos stay away from us but also our partners. :dunno:

yey! Nature's way of protecting yourself from the blood thirsty bugs! :D

I do know that lavender has strong smell when u squeeze the flowering bud.
 
as for me, moving to other apt (to one bedroom, right now I have 2 bedroom) to save some of my money by cheaper rent but at same apartment, and work my ass off hope to save up some money for car.

oh i didn't know that!!! i love lavender! ill have to get some spray cuz i hate the smell of those bug sprays! YAAAYYY!!! :) thanks for the tip!!! :thumb:
 
It is going to be a heck of summer for me. I'll be off to Texas to be with my friend for over a month then come back home to start my West trip to Idaho for my cousin's wedding then come back home and packin' my stuffs and off to Texas again.

When I'm down there in TX, I'd probably doing most of things outside such as going swimming, working on my suntan but be careful, going to Six Flags, meeting new people, rekindle some old flames, socalizing my ass off at DPHH or things like that, travelling around the city. Should be blast!
