This thread is about favorite and most comfortable summer shoes.

Birkenstocks are one of my favorites for summer.

I just ordered a pair that are for any climate and can walk in the rain as they are all rubber with no cork.

They are kind of a pink swirl.

I bought these as it rains a lot here and is impossible to wear the cork type many days if you don't want to ruin shoes.

LIke this except pink.

Never ever had a pair of them, though I have wanted to try them. My sister-in-law loves them to death. I wonder who has a bigger love of them, my SIL (Denise) or Botti? :hmm:

I generally go barefoot or in socks, but have been advised I need to have something on my feet. Need something that will allow me to shuffle along as I cannot pick up feet.

Hmmm maybe, Isotoner slippers or moccasins.

Certainly I must love them more than your sister in law. I have been collecting for years.

Maybe you could buy something like Birkenstock "Haiti" which is for tropical climates and also has a backstrap, to help it stay on since you can not lift your feet.

"Aruba" has backstrap. I was wrong about Haiti.

Have to check into that. Will look now. Thanks!! Denise has a bunch of them, but I don't think she's been at it as long.

Right now, I'm wearing sport sandals that are super comfy. REI clearance special. I like Keen but they don't fit me right. This pair conforms to my feet without any pressure. Hope that this pair lasts for a long time!

Since I have very large feet, it's not easy to find anything for me. I wear a 12W and my daughter is a 13W.

Can't you just fit men sizes? Some of the shoes look exactly the same, like athletic shoes.

Do you need shoe that slides easily?

I wear a men's 9W and yes, I do need something that will slide easily across carpet and such but not so slick that I fall. I have slipper socks from the hospital supply that have the rubber on the bottom, but they are HOT!

What about those cotton booties that you put on with foot lotion? They are soft and light weight. Maybe not protective enough.

The Birkenstocks are pretty unisex and you can get a nice pattern in larger sizes.

Flip flops! I love them to death! They have to have a soft toe thong though! :) Also any cut sandals! I love to have a bunch of those as well!

Another pair of sandals I have are by Colombia. They are $60 hiking sandals, but I got them at a major discount for $10.

They are engineered for major walking and also are impervious to bad climate.

I will have to stock up on summer shoes and sneakers while in US!

I have a Birkenstock, the cork one. But my mother doesn't like me to wear them as they leaves my feet aching at the end.

I have a sandal called 'Allrounder by Mephisto'. They're comfy but I think they're kind of small as my large toe sticks out.

Refuses to wear rubber shoes of any kind. Was forbidden from wearing them when I was a child, anyway.

Parents were always enclosing my feet, and I think that is why now I want so many different sandals.

I even have the winter socks for Birkenstock for year round wear.

But here we have so much snow you can't really even wear the clogs in mid-winter.

I used to love wearing leather clogs when I was 12. Now I see the Crocs clogs and I shrink away from it.

My mother believed in having leather shoes because they were better for the feet also they're long lasting and does not stink *much*. :)

I think it's cool you love wearing open ended shoes as they're comfy to you. Maybe someday that'll be me ;)

I love flip flops, wear them all year around no joke:giggle:

I love wearing Reef flip flops.
