I always order 6 inch with low cal ingredients with absolutely no cheese or dressings. It, indeed, is filling.
I, too, am trying to lose weight. Fortunately I'm in the warm season so I should be losing weights somewhat easily than my Northern hemisphere counterpart. 
People'll save heaps if they eat more healthy food and less takeout, believe it or not. It helps if you fill up your kitchen with fruits and vegetables and no to less junkfood. Popcorn's ok if you eat it plain.
