..HOPE MILLS, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina deputies say they used a stun gun on a woman who blocked a McDonalds drive-thru for 20 minutes after employees refused to serve her because she broke in line.

Authorities say 37-year-old Evangeline Lucca bypassed the order screen and the line at the restaurant in Hope Mills, about 60 miles south of Raleigh, and pulled directly up to the pick-up window Friday afternoon.

Cumberland County deputies say employees refused to take her order and told her to go to the back of the line. She refused to move, and police were called.

Authorities say Lucca was shocked after she blocked the line for 20 minutes. Her 3-year-old daughter was taken into protective custody.

Lucca was charged with second-degree trespass. A phone listing for her couldn't be found.

I hate it when people do that.

One time, my friend ended up waiting a while at a drive-thru. A car in front of her just sat there. When my friend walked up to the window and knocked on the window, the driver woke up. Turns out the driver was sleeping. I guess he was drunk and/or stoned... and was going to Taco Bell for the munchies.

Some drive-thru's have a sign that states that if you are deaf or hard of hearing, to just pull up and order at the window. Hope this isn't what was going on. Probably not, but it's possible.

Yes, but they do not mean to cut in line. The idea is to just pass by the microphone at the order spot and drive up to the window when it' s your turn.

All of the drive- ins that I'm familar with are designed so that you cannot cut in line with your car. There is always a curb or a separation of some sort of the drive-in line from the parking area or other driving lane. I'm confused how this woman could even do what she did.

True - I did not think of that. Around here, most of them have not only the curb, but also lots of shrubbery and trees.

I just looked at the McDonald's via Google Street View and the satellite view too as well. It appears that the parking lot is big, and it seems that there is a curb line where the drive-thru is, but I can't say that it's an actual curb or a painted line.
