Hello everyone. I really could use some help.

I am a respiratory therapist working in a hospital setting. I currently have BTE Oticon Agil Pro RITE hearing aids. I am using the E-Scope II with headphones (so that I don't have to take my hearing aids out to listen to patients) but am running into several problems and I need a little advice.

I have heard about something called a streamer? Apparantly (maybe) it somehow transmits sounds from the stethoscope wirelessly to the hearing aids. I asked my audi about it, but she didn't seem to know what I was talking about...

I have also read something about little "boots" that can be fitted on the BTE's that uses something called a DAI to transmit the signals, but I am not sure if my hearing aids are a candidate for that? It said something about needing a T-coil, and I don't know if my aids have that.

Any information you have to help me out would be GREATLY appreciated. I use my stethoscope a lot at work, and the headphones are very bulky and really get in my way. I'm looking for something to make my work like easier. I don't really know too much about hearing aids and accessories as I have just started wearing mine.

I have bilateral sensorineural hearing loss if you need to know that. Thanks!

Oticon has a streamer and I think most Oticon aids work with it.

I don't think you aids can have direct input

There is a person on this site who uses a stereoscope with a phonak iCom streamer and she gets on well with it to a point as she is profoundly deaf.

You may not be in uk so the links will be good to look at but not sure if you could order from them.

1st I'd say get a new Audi if she doesn't want to help you find a suitable solution (rather than say "I don't know what you're talking about". But you probably can't do that without "cost" since you just started wearing your HAs and the office visits to tweak them etc are usually bundled in with the cost of the HAs. If you're still in the trial period, then maybe you should shop for another Audi.
I don't use a stethoscope, but have heard of ones that can be plugged onto the steamer/iCom/etc. The sound would then be transmitted to you HAs wirelessly (you wear the streamer around your neck.

I have a streamer for my Oticons, works great!!! (except when U don't hear the music and U had to try to change positions to get it, LOL!!) BUT my streamer can be kinda hot N cold *Katy Perry ref*

Hope that doesn't happen with the Phonak ComPilot! :)

I use a e-scope with the phonak streamer and it's not too bad but definitely not the greatest set up and I can barely do BP's sometimes which is a pain in the rear

Do you think the problem is the streamer or the escope? I've been looking at amplified stethoscope options but I'm still stumped as to whether I should get one to use wirelessly through my aids or not.

My friends uses the e scope with the DAI input and she says it's very good and very clear. She doesn't get any interference which I'm guessing you may get with the streamers.

She also has the Naida UP and has a flat 110db loss.

She is a children intensive care nurse.

Hmm Dunno if it's my hearing or the e-scope but I know many with hearing similar to mine who haven't liked the sound much either or have had some difficulty ... I find it very hard to believe someone with a 110 dB loss can hear better but I guess maybe it could be practice or maybe she doesn't need to use it often..people in ICU are ALWAYS on monitors ..but dunno weird..

All I'm doing is passing on info that she text me.

She's been a nurse for well over 10 years.

People cope differently to HAs, so one solution may not be the best for other people.

The preferred way to listen to music is via direct input as its clearer then other ways.
