Store closings in 2014

I hope our K Mart will not close , I sure would hate to have to shop at Walmart in NH.

Not a big fan of most of the stores listed but it sucks for the job losses.

I still shop at radioshack sometimes, they still carry a pretty good supply of circuitry stuff. Built an ignition control module for an old outboard last year with mostly their parts but I've always wondered why they bother. The entire order came to like $12 and it was a lot of components. I really don't see to many people building their own circuits these days.

I believe that Kmart will be disappear soon.

You have other option is Target, competitor to Walmart.

Yes, it is sad to see that people cannot fix themselves anymore.

When you live in a small city these are the only stores to shop at , it easy to get to for people that do not like deal with the huge box stores like Walmart .
I think no matter where you shop today all the stores sell craps made in China . Nothing seen to be made with pride anymore, not unless you but stuff being made and sold by the person.

The Kmart here closed down years and years ago. There is a Tractor Supply there now. Another Kmart closed down next to where my sis works an hour away 4 or 5 months ago. Only 1 Kmart thats still open in about a 50 mile radius.

Sears and K Mart merge together b/c they both were not doing good . I really hate seeing only a few stores around , so far CVS and Walmart are doing good and I really do not like shopping at a store were you need a map to find your way around. I like to be able to run into a store and buy one or 2 items , I do not want spend half the day there . I know some people do but it does nothing for me.

Our local K-Mart is closing at the end of the year too. Target and Wal-Mart are popping up everywhere though. If I leave my house and drive just two miles in any direction, I could be at Target.

 I can do the same for Starbucks. Two of them are in the same mall complex.

Plus there is a different coffee shop in the same mall with the Starbucks. I have no idea how they all stay in business.

We have a Marshall's in my city but they're not the same anymore , they're carrying clothes and shoes mostly for the younger women . They no longer sell clothes for petite women , I am not petite but I had spoken to petite women and they're are having a hard time finding their size. I really hate the way things are changing today , you can't find anyone to help you a store anymore and if you do find someone they know nothing about the product.

Local K-Mart shut down couple years ago and been vacant since.

A local drug store just shut down and it was the one I used , Kmart is the same very small mall and Radio Shack which s not going good. It look like we could lose these stores too . Shaw's doing poorly too and trying to compete with Market Basket.

We have Shaws up here too. I was in one recently and could not believe what a ghost town it was, not a soul around in a huge store, middle of the day.Market Basket had just opened. Feel bad for Shaws, it's been around forever. My town has Hannaford, no Shaws.

Oh, btw, WDYS, love your wolf howling at the moon!

:ty: I was not sure would work . It's like that here too with Shaw's I went there a couple of days ago and it was like a ghost town too, I am not sure how it can in business much longer. Market Basket is doing good but I really wish we had another store to shop at. I am getting tried of going to the same store , and I do not feel like driving 50 minutes or longer to go to Trader Joe.

Market Basket? You must almost be in New Hampshire? Hannaford is way better than Shaws.

Yup, about a half hour to NH. Are you in NH. I do agree about Hannaford, which is my little town of Waterboro, have to drive out of town for Shaws, and I'm just lazy! but I like knowing it's there.

I lived in NH for a while. I keep moving further north. Some day I'll end up in Canada.
