Have been in it directly thru blood family, all I got to say is to be real in my experience. You will be treated the way you treat them.
To me, nothing more aggravating than being fake, but I don't think you got that in you so you're good. Do what you normally do.

depends on your partner and the age of the kids. i've had experience with that once and the mother was soooooo protective against any "correcting" i may have done. most important that your partner backs you up !!! or you will get played
