Stopped by there mid evening for a few things...my friend who is the cashier runs the store, she is super nice...Sits behind a bullet-proof glass too...There was a line of people waiting...then this young girl took off out the store. My friend left her booth and chased her down the street, caught her and took back the large can of Red Bull that she stole and did not pay for...hid it under her blouse.... when she got back to the store she was really livid!...Said the girl called her a Lier...say what?...I told her to call the Police...and believe it or not, that young girl came back to the store and stood outside...Laughing!...Can't believe it.

How old does this girl look like? She will probably continue stealing because she was laughing. Idiot!

She was in her teens...very rude to the cashier. It takes a long time for the Police to get there and by the time they do, the thief has vanished....and yeah...she's done it before...

We were all teens once. I tend to want to give them slack, but if they laugh, well...

Your friend was stupid to chase after her, she put her life at risk over a can of Red Bull! The girl could of had a weapon or someone waiting outside with a weapon, who knows. Our police won't come out for shoplifting or burglary claims, they tell you to go online and file your own report. If other PD's do the same or similar it's a wonder that shoplifting and burglary claims are on the rise. I know a number of Home Depot store managers and each store has a shrink(theft) total in the million to a million and a half dollars a year that corporate is okay with and their employees are told not to chase the shoplifters, if they do they will be fired.

I like this post.
I just cannot push the "like" button for anyone.
Weird.

Sadly, teen thieves are like that. In the 90s, my brother used to work at a grocery store as a shift manager for years, before he quit to work at a giant corporate company as a condition monitoring analyst. He is so glad he quit. He used to chase kids and teens after they stole food and candies. He caught them all. Yes, ALL of them. Some of them laughed at him because they thought it was funny. They had no sign of remorse at all.

I feel for your brother. He sounds like a person of integrity.

He is. He has a heart of gold. I think he preferred night shift because it was quieter than day shift.

I also recall the cashier from the same grocery store my brother used to work at chased two teens across the street. I was 12 at the time. My mom slammed the brakes so hard and thought she was going to run over two teens across the street. I hit my head against the dashboard. At the same time, someone ran into the back of my mom's van. Turned out the homeless guy on the bike tried to help cashier catching two teens.

It's sad that some people have no morals these days. :(
