Last Saturday I just bought a copy of Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic RPG game for the xbox.

*DROOL* the gameplay and the cutscenes (with subtitles of course) were waaay fuckin' cool! Even the Jedi training was included in it.

Since it is set 4,000 years before the current events chroniciling the rise and fall of Anakin Skywalker, It was a weird feeling to meet many ancestors of familiar Star Wars characters in the game.

Kudos to Bioware (makers of Baldur's gate RPG series) and Lucasarts for pulling off the 1st ever Star Wars RPG game almost perfectly.

Hmm... sounds promising. What exactly is the plot and gameplay like? Is it 3rd person point of view where the character moves and the background doesn't (like Metal Gear Solid), the character moves and the background moves with the character (like Tomb Raider), or the character moves and the background moves alternatively (like Super Mario 64)? Or... is it just a fighting game?

It's a Role-Playing game.

I'm :x about the plot lest I give away spoilers. However, since its set 4,000 years back as I mentioned in the previous post, most of familiar creatures are there

But all I can say is it plays almost like Final Fantasy but with a combination of real-time and turn-based battles. Plus they used the new version of the Dungeon and Dragons rules set for it too.

Right now I'm experiencing damn bugs with the game as its the 1st time Bioware attempted a RPG on the xbox. So I gotta take the copy back to EBGames and xchange it for a new one and collect a few workarounds for the bugs at gamefaqs.com. Im just hoping they will make a patch downloadable from xbox live to fix those damn bugs since its annoying the hell out of me for 20 hours straight. It seems like the xbox RPG games has more bugs than any other genres (driving, FPS, sports)...ugh, but I have to understand that RPG's are heavy on code thus exposing to too many bugs that the programmers overlooked.

UPDATE: I had managed to exchange my bugged Knights disc for a new one. and it took me almost 40 hours to complete the light-side/Jedi storyline.

Right now working on the Dark side/Sith storyline. Cant wait to see how it turns out if I sided with the Sith instead of the Jedi.

the plot got many twists and turns more than all the Star Wars movies combined. but I aint giving out spoilers for it.
