That's one heck of a vacation!

I don't live in Florida, but I've been there on vacation. Can't say it made me want to stay, but I get the appeal.

What was it that made you not want to stay there. My ex brother live there and that is one reason I would not want to live there.

to the OP , how is the weather out there right now and that is great you got a job!

My grandparents lived there while I was growing up, so we went there semi-frequently. The heat, the bugs, the humidity, hurricanes; I prefer a more temperate climate.

Florida isn't a bad place to visit, but it's just too much heat and humidity for me to want to stay. Also Palmetto bugs... cockroaches the size of your hand by any other name are still giant cockroaches.

:ty: Some people had suggested me moving there and you just convince me that I was right when I said "No!" LOL! The winters are getting too hard on me and I sure wish I could move a state that has no snow.

I used to live in Michigan, had typical midwest winters (lots of snow). We moved here to Seattle about 4 years ago now and the winters are just awesome. I think I've seen 6 days of snow total over the last 4 years. Last winter was really great, we had days in the 60s and not as much rain and grey as normal.

Anywhere in the Pacific Northwest has similar weather. From Vancouver BC down to Northern CA.

Northern CA is not the same anymore after all the fires and drought and logging of trees . I loved it when I lived there but we had the worst winter in 35 years . Just my luck , I moved from Boston ,Ma to get away from snow and we had snow. My Samoyed loved it and wanted to sleep outside in the snow at night . She wrapped her tail around her face to warm . The air was so clean you could see the moonbeam at night . :aw:
