I would recommend you to purchase a wired router instead of a wireless router because of the speed. I personally do not trust a wireless router.
I have a D-link router that has 4 ports. My router connects two computers, share two printers, and a VP-200. It has one main line for the router to connect these ports. Hope that helps.
For example:
a main line to a cable modem (ethernet wire). The modem has a 2nd port that goes to a router.

(3) my other printer connects my computer (I lost my USB cable so I use the ethernet.)
