for a short while, while sitting in the laundro-drama-rama-mat....
god I hate not having a washer/dryer.

Anyways, the house is going up for sale, I am listing it right around the market value, then I will buy a smaller house, cheaper cash and have a little savings put aside... start over from scratch, but not building anything anymore.
Simplifying everything and moving on.

got new cabinets and installing

Nice kitchen setting!

Will the lower cabinets be the same as the uppers?

The bases will match, just squared doors instead of the arch top design

Looks very nice. There is still one major thing that we seem to disagree on. I want a wall oven and cooktop rather than range.

My house has an older range with just an upper oven where the door even swings to the side rather than down. I love it! The ONLY problem is that it is from before self-cleaning ovens. Since that configuration, but with a self-cleaning oven is not available I would do a wall oven and cooktop.

all the work you put into house.
I hope you find the house you want and you must be so fed up with building stuff but you be well experience what to look out for

Yeah, I found some nice log cabins on (2) 100 acre lakes for between 40 and 60K, if I get 80 out of the house that will give me a little savings, but Im also looking at a couple ranch homes on 10 acres right around 40K so, these homes dont need any work and i can kick back, relax and dont have the city nosing around my house every day... no neighbors to deal with... Just me and nature.

If you pay for it, I'm sure Sono will oblige you. :giggle:

It's all about personal preference tempered by current trends (availability of features). For me, our stove is just right for our purposes. It has two ovens--a small conventional electric one above a large convection oven. For just the Hubby and me, we use the small one most of the time (it's like a glorified toaster oven). We use the large oven only a few times per year. The small one uses a lot less electricity and heats up quickly. Both ovens are self-cleaning. The stove top includes adjustable size burners and a plate-warming burner (I can't stand cold plates for warm food). We love it. But it might not suit other people.

Many people prefer a microwave oven over the stove because it clears counter space. I don't like it because I don't like to lift heavy hot items from above me. Maybe my opinion would be different if I were taller and stronger. :dunno:

Jane, My buddy is gutting out his kitchen as we speak, they have a cook top with grill and vented as well as a double wall oven that they will get rid of, if youre interested in buying my house I will throw it all in free, UNINSTALLED of course, but will include it in the sale to make you happy.

No but thanks for the offer. I, too, am a single person and don't want the big house. At the time I got this 2 bedroom one I went from no houses to TWO houses in a week and one day because of the death of my mother who had been back in the family home that she grew up in which had grown to 9 rooms as my grandparents had 7 kids.

My point was just another illustration of the different tastes that people have.

I will be keeping what I have as long as it works. Especially since the only wall ovens with side swing doors I have seen information about are a couple thousand dollars or more.

whaaa? Awesome. My mother would probably love that little plate warming burner! (two would be better). She puts the plates in the oven (after she warms it up) to keep them warm enough as she hates cold plates too.

The adjustable burners sound interesting. I either need to find an apartment with something like that or buy a condo (hahaha fat chance... no way I will ever afford one...:( ).

My grandmother used to warm all her plates in the oven, too. :)

For cold dishes, like salads, I put the bowls in the fridge to chill.

I like the adjustable burner so it can be for large pots or small ones without being wasteful.

oh..hmm she doesn't do the plates in the fridge for salads (we do the "big salad" in the summer time lol)- if I remember might mention that.

Yeah that always drove me nuts using a small pot on a big ass burner or a big pot that barely fits on the burner...

my son use an oven electro magnetic the principle so not sure will warm plates up
