Today I went to my audi and got my new receivers put on my Zon 7's by Starkey. They are the Power 50's and are so much better! I had my others pushed to the max and these allow more sound to come through!

The technology of these are amazing! If you are thinking of getting new digital bte aids email me if you want to know about these.. I have a 60% loss in one ear and 70% loss in another ear and these are great! Or if you have any questions here go ahead and ask!!

I love Starkey.. but when i moved to a new State and the hearing aids that we suggest were Resound Azure mini BTE (sucky) i still use my old Starkey CIC cause to me Starkey REALLY does focus in on the human voice! the others just make EVERYTHING louder!

Hmm..maybe i should buy some off line.. my loss is a almost identical to yours! what other hearing aids are you comparing these to?

I totally agree. Well I did a lot of research. these are my first set ever but I have been so happy with them I didnt want to try any others. These are amazing because they have the BluWave Technology which is not seen in hardly any other aid. These just came out in May and already they had an upgrade receiver! But everywhere I looked online, Zon 7 by Starkey finished 1st in its class. They are light weight, noone can see that I even have them, and you don't need ear molds which I find to be awesome! It also helps that I have an Audi who is great at what he does and lets me come in all the time to tweek them how I want them. There are so many cool features to these! They talk to you when your battery is low, when you have an appointment, when you change channels (for different situations). They even have a feature where you can hold down the button and "put them to sleep" if there is a Loud sound like a siren or something, one touch of the button and they go back to the setting it was on. Since Ive had these I have read on here what others have and frankly I don't think anyone else can compare. I do understand that Starkey is a bit pricey but I think it is certainly worth it for what you get. These were 5k for the 2 of them but SOOO worth it.
I was talking to my friend last night about them and his squeel and get feedback when on the phone or when your hands get close to them. Mine dont at all! I get no feedback or "birds". I did before I got the bigger insert to plug the inside of my ear due to the air flowing through, but I havent heard a "bird" since!

I didnt get mine from here but heres a link that tells you all about them!

back in the 90s i tried a pair of starkey digital aids (i no longer remember the model) and was amazed at their excellent sound quality. although they were designed for someone with moderate loss and i had severe-profound loss, i wanted to try them to find out what digitals sounded like until my oticon digifocus II super power BTE's arrived. one thing that struck me was how well i could hear deep bass tones. until then, i was unable to hear that with my analog (oticon 380P) aids.

No earmolds? What do you wear in your ears, then? That actually sounds cool cuz I am SOOO sick of all the "feedback" noise I get with my earmolds.

Nevermind :) I clicked on that link and saw it for myself. I have seen pixs of that before and I would love that, my audi said right now my hearing loss is too profound, but to give it time and technology will improve enough that someone like me could wear that someday. So I'm waiting! :)

what the OP is describing is called an "open fit." hearing aids designed in this manner do not use earmolds but instead (i hope the OP will correct me if i'm wrong) sit over the ears like a ci speech processor does. for instance, my ci processors do not have earmolds, but they fit directly over my ears. open fit hearing aids are primarily targeted towards people who have mild or
mild-moderate loss.

Yes you are right in a way "open ear" meaning its open but the insert i have in my ears plugs the whole ear canal so it is still "closed". I have moderate severe loss and on some frequencies profound, I wont hear that sound but these are great with speech. Also like I said, the first model they came out with was someone with a moderate to moderate severe loss, I had them pushed to the max and now with the new power receiver there is much more room. Someone with up to a 70-75% loss can hear well with these.

interesting! i've never been able to see open fit aids (i'm totally blind), so i had no idea they had plugs that fit inside the ear canal.

i'm so glad you're happy with your new hearing aids! enjoy! :)
