My dog doesn't require to climb anything. We have to keep all food clear out of reach from this darn dog!! His head is higher than the counter top, he can swipe the food clean without flinching any plates. It's like when I tried to thaw out roast beef, when I walk out of the kitchen just to go to bathroom then when I walk back in the kitchen, all I see is a bare bone sitting on the frying pan.
