Sinkhole in KY ruins 8 Corvettes

East Coast will be gone within few years from now and on. It is called Continental Drift, directing to west.

Seems they had another one in Tampa, Florida the other day....this retiree was actually "crying" on the news, talking about it...said they told her to vacate, the house was not safe...and one of her neighbors had a sink hole too....

Really scary whenever I think about it.

The midwest also has the problem of mine subsidence. I think Kentucky has a lot of coal mines of different sizes as I know Southern Illinois does. So would not be surprised if they are checking for that also.

Like Coal City, IL. Isn't that near your town?

I had never heard of Coal City, IL. When I looked up a map on Google, as I suspected, it is very far north of us. Drive time estimate is around 4 hours even with much of it being on Interstate 55.

Remember I am east of St. Louis a good 60 to 80 miles depending on where in St. Louis you are going.

I'm surprised you never heard of it. I've known about it nearly my entire life. Used to be a coal mining town, but now it serves as a tourism attraction. Went there once before to look around in those coal mines, and it was pretty cool. Even managed to grab a large lump of coal from there (Hey, it was free-- they said I could.), and my Mom wasn't thrilled about that. She literally shrieked when I came home with it.
